good fit, works for swelling
As a pregnant RN working 12 hr shifts, my feet and ankles were swelling and painful (new onset). These compression stockings fit my 5'8" medium frame, size 8 shoe, well. They are moderately difficult to get on but do not cut in behind the knee or around the top and have enough toe room so my toenails do not hurt from any pressure. After 12 hours wearing these sox at work my feet and ankles look like they did pre-pregnancy (no swelling) and without the sox I cannot fit any regular shoes the next day. Very thankful to have found these!! P.S. They look similar to the ones we use in the hospital to prevent DVT (blood clots in legs). Excellent product, I wear them everyday now, even when not working.

Too tight at knee
I bought the black compression sox (not sugar free, although I don't know what sugar has to do with sox anyway) and they were fine. These sugar free sox are just way too tight. They are longer than the black ones so they go up to the knee, and really really cut in at the bend of the knee. I am a nurse and wore them for a 12 hour shift. By the end of the shift it hurt so bad at the bend of my knee that I couldn't wait to get them off, and the red mark where it cut in was there for days.....that's how tight they are. Never had that problem with the other ones. I wouldn't buy these again, and I doubt I'll even wear the pair I bought.

Moderate, but comfortable, compression
Love these socks. They provide the level of compression I need without squeezing my feet or calf. Good quality, well made, comfortable yet functional. Will buy again in other colors.

Women’s 9.5 may want to size up? Toes popped
I had several white pairs of these socks in nursing school. They were the regular size (9-11) and they fit and held up well through many clinicals and labs. They were practically perfect.I purchased 4 pairs in black and navy for my new job, and the first 2 pairs split at the toe seam of my right foot at the very first wearing. (FYI, I had just gotten a pedicure.) I was so disappointed, and returned the 2 unworn pairs.I did notice that the length of the foot seemed slightly shorter than the white socks I purchased earlier.I may end up buying the next size up.I really like the compression and the overall heft of the material (not too thin, not too thick, and not shiny or sheer). Also, the band doesn’t leave an imprint on my 17” calves, but the socks still stay up. I have since tried many other socks, but these are still my favorites, despite the size and/or quality control issue. (This is why I gave them 3 stars instead of one star.)

Has both Pros and Cons...still worth it in the end
Let’s go in reverse order:The Ugly: As other posters have mentioned, the tops of these strangulation…I mean compression…socks can dig into the top of your calf, right where your knee bends. It can get uncomfortable and leave a mark, but if you can stretch your legs out, that helps. Sitting with your knees bent can get uncomfortable. It helps to move the hem around some. The Bad: These are tough to get on if you’re pregnant (and could very well be other reasons, but I’m pregnant and these are a pain for me!). They are very snug and take some maneuvering for me to get them on.The Good: It’s worth the effort to get these suckers on. I’m 8 months pregnant and with the sudden onset of warm weather, my feet ballooned up to what looked and felt like twice their normal size. Which is pretty horrific in my opinion. Tight and swollen, it was very, very uncomfortable. With the exception of flip-flops (and only one pair at that), I had no shoes that fit. These really do help keep the swelling down so I can, first and foremost, feel more comfortable, and second, wear comfortable shoes. Well worth the effort of pulling the suckers on.

Not the Same
I will start my review with these, SOX you need a big foot (I am a size 7) to wear these, if you have long legs and a size 9 and up shoe then these are the sox for you. They do offer strong compression from what I can tell, the fit is just too off to wear. For a person who is 5'2 these sox's are too long and cut into the back of my leg, it's an odd spot where they just pinch between your lower leg behind the knee area. The re-enforced toe does nothing when your foot does not fit to the top part of the sox, If I pulled them to the toe the heal is in my ankle. I purchased a pair of the SOX compression a couple of months ago. They were more like stockings but stronger and amazing hold in the ankle area did not cut into the back part of my leg. I have ordered a couple of more and I have NEVER gotten the same ones again. The search continues.

Life saver!!!
You should get these if your feet swells from standing long. I wrk a 12hr shift and my calves, ankles, and foot used to be so swollen with fluid at the end of the day. After wearing these for 4 really hard shifts in a row it's a miracle, no swelling!! And I don't hurt. The fit pretty comfortably even around my abnormally big calves (exaggerating a bit) which are about 22inches wide. I love them and have ordered another one. Btw, stay away from the as seen on tv miracle sock, it is worthless and is just an expensive men's dress socks.
