Flexible SD Card Reader
Initially I was only looking for a SD to Lightning adapter. My DSLR does not have WiFi, so I needed something to transfer an image to my iPhone to post on social media without having to fire up the laptop (which had a built-in SD slot). When I saw this one, I decided to spend the additional $$$. It does exactly what I needed it for, plus I now have additional connection options. If I were to fault the product for anything is that NOWHERE on the box does it tell you how to access the Micro-USB connection. It lists that it supports it; just doesn't tell you how. Luckily one of the additional images that Amazon had on their page showed this secret (the USB connection folds out of the way to get to the Micro-USB). It's not a connection that I needed but for those that need the micro-USB, it's good to know how to actually use it.

Advice for generic SD and MicroSD cards
I haven’t had great luck with compatibility of non-Apple products on Apple hardware (see MiFi certification standards) so I was a bit skeptical that this was going to work as advertised, but I decided that for less than $20 it was worth the gamble as I needed something to transfer and review photos stored on various flash cards between my Mac and Windows computers and assorted cameras and mobile devices. After downloading the required App from the App store I plugged in a generic MicroSD card into the card reader (on an iPhone 6) and… nothing. I could see the internal device storage and read/write to a folder I created on the iPhone, and I could allow access to other folders on the local (iPhone) storage, but I couldn’t see or access anything on the SD MicroSD card via the card reader. I thought here we go again, but decided to do some more testing before assuming the worst.I tried a Sandisk MicroSD card and viola, I was able to read and write to it as well as create and delete folders so I knew the product was working, but why didn’t it work on my other MicroSD card(s)?These same cards mounted on my computers and on my cameras and I could see, modify and delete files and folders there with no issues. The generic cards were using the FAT file system the same as the SanDisk cards were and performed fine in my other devices, but something was clearly different.I reformatted one of the generic SD Cards (FAT32) and then installed it in my camera (automatically adding the CANON file system) and then tried it in the card reader again. This time it worked. The same scenario enabled the other generic MicroSD Cards to work as well. For whatever reason, some of the generic cards, though formatted FAT need to be reformatted again before they will work on this card reader. I didn’t check to see if they were formatted FAT16 from the factory vs FAT32 but reformatting them from a computer seems to fix the issue of generic SD and MicroSD cards not being usable with this device.I have only had it for a day now and only used it to transfer a few files so far, but so far so good. I will update this review if that changes. One final thing to keep in mind, cards only go in one way so be gentle and don’t force anything. Also, the micro USB is integrated into the regular USB port (gently lift up) in case you are wondering.

Wonderful media transfer device
I got this to transfer iPhone photos. It’s a great little device. It does a lot more than I thought. The fact that it does what I bought it for is so nice! Often my expectations outweigh performance with stuff like this.I like the way it looks and the ends can remain covered to prevent dirt from getting into my device. Nothing has fallen off since purchase.I happy I found this product. I have recommended it to my family and friends.

This works perfectly. Easy to use.
I've tried several of this type card reader and they would work a coupe times and then fail. This one is perfect. I recently used it daily while traveling to post pictures from SD cards in my camera to my phone for posting on social media. It's easy to use and worked perfectly. I'm so pleased. Apple products require downloading of an app but the 1st time you use it it will walk you thru the download with no problems.

Before you buy buy: Micro slot became broken 1st time I used, app is limited to media files only.
1- Micro SD card auto ejection mechanism became useless the very first time Card was imput, once I ejected Micro Sd card for the 1st time, simply did not hold the micro sd any more, this is $16 item, returning it from abroad, or even USA is useless. It works with the standard SD slot, , but defintly is a cheap device for excatly what you paid for.. Wont ever buy it again, at lest this Brand. 2- Usb App it will readmyour camera roll, music and contacts, so No Other file type will be suitable for transfer. ,y conclusion is: the App sucks...

Backup in a breeze
I can easily pull photos, etc. from my iPhone via the lightning connector and connect it to my MacBook Pro via usb-c. Also can easily connect it to my raspberry pi. Love it.
