Dutch Genuine Army Issue Goretex Combat Jacket 3 Piece Set

First off, prospective soldiers in Nederland must have to do an extensive course in trying to figure out how their new combat gear actually works. It's a little bit baffling at first.As has been mentioned in other reviews there are three parts to the Combat Jacket. The first (inner layer) is a fleece type waistcoat that seems to have no way of fastening and just seems to fit snugly to one's torso.The second layer button fastens to the outer Combat Jacket shell and is the waterproof element of the three piece. This can inexplicably take a while to figure out as there are a number of differently positioned buttons and button holes in this and the corresponding outer camo shell.Lastly the outer shell, the camo combat jacket itself, is NOT Gore-Tex as one reviewer commented . Think of it as just the toughened cotton camouflage exterior. Because that is what it is. Multi-pocketed with clicker fasteners, blank velcro tabs for name and rank badges (if that's what floats your boat), the obligatory Nederland flag patch and a drawstring at the waist.The jacket came with a camo hood that some reviewers have stated as saying attaches to the underside of the collars of the combat jacket. It does no such thing. It's completely independent of the jacket and is actually more akin to a bonnet, in that it fastens by clicker fasteners around the throat. It makes perfect sense for a combat jacket. Turn your head in your hooded rain jacket and you're staring at hood.Sizing for me was good and I'm glad I ignored the reviewer who reckoned that these won't fit anyone over six feet tall. I am just under 6' 5" with waist size of 36 and chest size in the region of 41" so the XXL was a really good size for me. The only downside is the arm length. With my arms by my side the sleeves are fine, with my arms stretched out the sleeves come up short. It seems to be a recurring issue with combat jackets (or I was a gibbon in a previous life).The inner fleece layer makes it very warm if a little odd so I, personally, have ditched it in favour of another fleece underlayer. But overall the jacket is a keeper. And the supplier, Cissbury, were very helpful and easy to deal with.

Jacket ok for 7 ft 30 stone man which smelled rotten had to be thrown away must been lying in warehouse for years

Really well made jacket but sizing is very small

Say it comes with hood, it doesn't, however it was clean and only one pres-stud missing that had been machined so the hole did not fray, no rips or marks, pull cord missing for middle of jacket.it had a warehouse smell but after 2 washes this was gone..i purchased medium as recommended and the fit is perfect im 5' 11" and chest size 38i would recommend this jacket, very warm and the liner is superb quality, haven't been in the rain yet...surprising for a British summer!!will be used for commuting on my scooter when the weather drops

A1 condition..as new, from one of Europes leading joke armies. Complete with quilt liner, fur liner and detachable hood. Although pr-issued these coats are like new. Waterproof, weatherproof, looks and feels good...well worth every penny. This coat is not recommended for hoodie beer-monkies as it's far too good to wear hanging around the shopping centre, looking for old people to rob. There are many cheap and nasty coats more apt for said clowns. This is a serious piece of kit for those who need one. Highly recommended!

Warning do not purchase if you are over 6ft, XXL is no more than a medium at best. Very disappointed

Nice jacket but very small, ordered the xxl as normally large to xl and found still to small. Only 40inches around hips so couldn't fasten the zip. Pity about sizing as jacket looks good and supplier was quick and efficient.
