Neon — Erra

Talent and beauty throughout, but more of a Drift-y B side album
Erra is certainly one of the new pioneers in the heavy metal scene. Cash is a man of many talents from his soaring vocals, indicate guitar writing and playing, and as the major force in Erras direction. If you enjoyed their previous albums, you should still take a gander at this new record. Be wary though, this is the least favorite of their albums for me. Some songs to me felt like filler tracks, and I only say that because some choruses on the album didn't have that unique personality like I heard on their previous albums. Some choruses were incredible and heartfelt, and a few tracks had choruses that didn't mean much to me and were sort of there to be there. With one caveat, the screaming vocals and guitar writing are still top notch. There are so many hidden lead guitar moments that get buried by vocals so you have to put on your headphones, sit back in a quiet area with a nice view, and just listen for them.Overall a great record from Erra, with some moments of their dicgrpahy hidden throughout, but it's the least favorite of mine. It feels like a continuance of their last album, maybe with some b sides ideas thrown in. The finishing song was not your typical ABAB format which is great, and there's some catchy riffs and leads which I loved, but it is far from the majestic and powerful ending like The Hypnotist or Dementia was... I think the MVPS of his record go to lead guitars and the screaming vocalist. Also, if you want a more rock feel with a solid album of memorable choruses and guitar work from, check out Casey's solo project Ghost Atlas, it's beautiful.

Still good
Quality stuff as usual from erra. But in cramming so much into so little time I think they lost a bit of the personality that drift had.

A wonderful record...
Not my favorite from them, but a very solid effort and fun to listen to.

One of my favorite albums of all time
I was blown away from beginning to end. Jesse Cash is an inspiration. This is a heartfelt lyrical journey.

Dat art tho
Album of the year or at least in contention with any other. Don't miss out! Erra has arrived. JT and Jesse are too dang complementary. Probably going to have impaired hearing...Also killed it with the art.

Not quite my top favorite album from this band, but completely far away from being the worst. These guys have my two thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽
