Vinyl LP pressing. Blood. Sweat. Tears. Rock-N-Roll. That's what Halestorm's made of. The band, guitarist Joe Hottinger, bassist Josh Smith, drummer Arejay Hale and singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale churn out uncompromising rock-n-roll anthems on their self-titled Atlantic debut. Drawing from an arsenal of songs that she's penned since she was 13, Lzzy examines love and life on the edge while casting a hypnotic spell on listeners. Drawing from influences as diverse as Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, and Metallica, she has a dark sensuality that's undeniable. She exudes that feeling on stage and in the studio, because she's not afraid to be herself. She laughs, 'As a kid, when a lot of my friends were into Backstreet Boys, I attached myself to Alice Cooper, Cinderella, and Van Halen. I want to give the audience a ride and connect with them.' In the end, that philosophy will ensure Halestorm's longevity. 'This album has been a long time coming,' says Lzzy. 'There's been a lot of dirty work that went into making it. Creatively, we went to rock n roll college through the experience. It was crazy, raw, down and dirty'.

A Glorious Noise
I said that after hearing the latest studio album (The Strange Case Of..) that I would indeed backtrack and purchase the maiden album from Halestorm - so, I've done that and I have to say that 'HALESTORM' has had a similar impact as TSCO!For a maiden album, it's right up there uncannily sounding very Heart/Evanescence-like at times but with a heavier twist, and that's no bad thing at all! Lizzy certainly has a great range and feel for vocal dynamics!Certainly, for me, there is no duffer lurking among the 11 tracks presented here and from the opening "It's Not You" through to "Nothing To Do With Love", taking in the beautiful "Familiar Taste Of Poison" we get hit with belting rock and ballads of the grown up variety.I certainly am going to have to be present at the Alter Bridge/Shinedown/Halestorm gig later this year - I just hope that Halestorm are given sufficient time to put their message over to the fans of the bigger acts on the bill as they certainly are good enough to warrant that bigger audience and a headlining tour all of their own.

AWESOME !!
God I love this band, bought ' The Strange Case Of' and couldn't believe my ears, along with the Rival Sons they are beyond doubt the best band in the world today, the musicianship is superb and Lizzy Hale is an incredible talent, you want tough chick she will give it to you in abundance on tracks like, It's Not You, I Get Off, Dirty Work etc but at the same time can knock out ballads with ease Bet U Wish U Had Me Back and the excellent Familiar Taste Of Poison, what a band, what an album, can't wait to see them in Liverpool in August, Awesome !1

Good introduction to a great band
After hearing and liking a few Halestorm tracks on the radio I decided to buy a couple of albums ahead of seeing them on tour. Reading reviews, this album seemed to receive good comments and I was not disappointed. A couple of tracks are a bit on the poppy side but Lizzie's amazing vocal range more than makes amends. This is album is a good choice if you like what you hear played on the radio and are into listening to full albums rather than downloading individual tracks. My only minor niggle is that by the end of the album it is beginning to sound a bit samey - but in a good way.

Halestorm
3 - 4 minute long rock songs that go verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, chorus, end?But wait... these songs are dangerously catchy. All of them. The vocals are very strong, providing a wide range of pitch. The lyrics are pretty dirty - you wouldn't let your kids listen to this. This is party music for the rock fans.It seems James Hetfield adopted a daughter with Nikki Sixx. And she hung out with Hinder all day, every day.

My favourite album. Loads of tunes that have a tendency to stick in your head. Absolutely amaaaazing vocals from Lzzy. No swearing on this one either, so a good album to use to convert your young kids to metal....

Halestorm Rocks!
These guys are brilliant. The singer has an amazing voice, and if you check out the live videos, you find that it's not fake, she really does sing like that (I have been disappointed before by singers who sound great on mp3 and awful live). It's a short album, which is my only complaint, I enjoyed it so much I wanted more. A familiar taste of poison is my favourite song on the album, starts of slow and really ramps up.

Halestorm - goes down a storm!
Halestorm's debut album is one of the best debut's that i've heard in a very long time. The band's strength is LZZY's (not a spelling error) amazing voice, that has effortless power and range. The band are tight and sound like they enjoy playing off one another. The songwriting is very good, but some of the lyrics are a bit ropey- the only fault I can find..destined to be a classic!!

A good Debut - slower than expected
This was one of my Amazon recommendations so took a punt and bought it - was not disappointed. The surprise for me was how "slow" most of the tracks seemed, especially after the opener (It's not you) - however this doesn't detract from what is an excellent debut album.
