I was hesitant to buy this when I read it's collapsible, because I assumed it could not be sturdy. But it really is. I ordered two in taupe. These came shipped flat, tucked into their own lids and sealed in plastic. They are mostly made of vinyl, which - as another reviewer said - smelled strongly the first day. But they quickly aired out. Simple to put together, I didn't even glance at the directions. My cats scoped them out right away, and even the skittish one was happy to lie inside. They are sturdy enough to sit or step up on, and I weigh a lot more than I should. They may not hold up to being kicked around, if you are the family of the constantly fighting boys I once babysat for. But I can see they are durable for their intended use. I doubt they would hold up outside, exposed to elements. Each comes with a little fleece bed that is soft. I haven't tried washing it yet. The lid top is strong and doesn't leave dents from resting your feet in shoes on it. This works well and is small, so useful even in a tight bedroom or small apartment. For the price, this is a really excellent example of "pet furniture" and I recommend it.

I bought three of these for our newly adopted barn cats, but they would just as easily fit inside as they are very nice looking.Took only seconds to put together, and they are very sturdy.The outside is a faux leather, the inside and the bottom support are a fabric that can be wiped down. The pad is fleece on the top and faux leather on the bottom, is very nice, and can be hand washed. I'm not sure how it would do in the washer because of the Faux leather, but it probably would be okay on delicate. I took away a star only because the fleece is a little on the thin side. I put a towel under it for more padding.The color of this changes depending on the light. It can look anywhere from a creamy beige to a light brown.I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Our cat doesn't really like enclosed spaces but we thought this might be good for when she gets scared during storms. After we opened it we just put a treat in it and sprayed it with a little catnip, and she went right in the next day! We haven't had a big storm yet but she has really taken to it for daily use, which I wasn't anticipating.

Very well designed product but it smells like Timothy hay ?? Why would this be it came shipped in its own box ...... I happen to be highly allergic to hay and am still in the process of airing it out .... where ever this item is being stored for shipping Needs to be revised because a sealed furniture item should not smell like this! I’m very disappointed in the odor even my little dog backs away.....hopefully the smell will go away.

Our cats love hiding places and this was perfect for them. Easy to assemble and true to color. A nice addition to our cat friendly furniture.
