Works exactly as it should
This fume extractor works exactly as it should. If positioned close enough to your work, like 6" or less, it pulls all the fumes away. This is a very solid product constructed of steel, and it looks nice as well. Sure, it's more noisy than having nothing at all, but way better than having to breathe a continuous stream of fumes that always seem to migrate toward your nose. There are higher grade products out there designed for continuous duty commercial use, but for the money this one is excellent.

Quality build, decent performance
As a fume extractor, it does its job decent enough. If you are looking for a fume extractor with good extracting performance and flexibility, you should avoid this. Because the wafts of "smoke" that rises as you're working on your projects has to be quite close. I have to elevate mine with some old college books so it catches it more effectively. The build quality of this is amazing however. All metal construction; even the grate that holds the filter in-place is metal. The only thing that isn't metal is the power button and 4 feet on the bottom. I like the internal power supply; you just need a PC-style power cable with no "transformer brick" to worry about. The power button is old school red/orange indicator neon-type instead of an obnoxious bright blue LED that seems to still be prevalent. Also of note is the user replaceable safety fuse.It is quite loud but I don't mind. I wont be using this at night with people sleeping in the next room however. I would say its about twice as loud as my 980Ti going full ham. Though not as high-pitched.There is no speed control. Its either on or off.The filter is a standard size so no worrying about filter replacements if they stop making this particular model. You're definitely paying a slight premium for the metal construction, so unless you're looking for good build quality at this price point, I would avoid this model. You can get similar performance from less expensive plastic-made versions.

Clean air and no more fumes!
This thing rocks. I picked one of these up to help with the fumes from solder/flux. It does a fantastic job. The air is cleaned up around my workspace right after the solder touches the iron. You can literally watch the smoke drift over to the extractor - great suction! The build quality is really impressive. It has a very sturdy metal construction. There are little things that went into it that are great additional touches, like a fuse for the power, a thick power cable, and 3 extra carbon filters. All in all, I'm very impressed with this unit.

Very satisfied!
We purchased the Xytronic 426DLX Fume Extractor for our school's aviation club. Our students often need to solder electrical connections when building and assembling their flight machines including drones and airplanes. We are very satisfied with the fume extractor. Our opinion is that it works well. Thank you.

Nice quality!
All metal design, very stable and nice long cord. Yes, you need to keep it near what you're soldering but for hobbyist use that shouldn't be a problem as our boards aren't that large. Fan isn't silent, but isn't very loud either. Of course I'm using this in the garage and not in my living room either. Came with 3 charcoal filters.

Hard to tell....
I ordered this to hopefully help with the fumes from doing stained glass work. I saw a video where the fumes were being sucked right on into this little gizmo. Does it work? I have no idea. I am too busy holding the solder and watching where I am trying to get it to take the time to look at the extractor. That being said, it could be a wonderful little contraption; I just need someone else to tell me if it works, and no one is usually available! But it was a good price, and the seller was outstanding!

Works great, especially when raised up a bit
It's inexpensive and does the job as advertised. Comes with extra filters, too, which is nice. I've found that it works best when the fan is about 6" above the soldering area. The fumes have some time to slow down and conglomerate a bit, and they're more reliably sucked into the filter. I've been putting the fume extractor on a stack of books, but at some point I might fabricate a stand for it.Bottom line, I'll never solder without it and I seriously regret not having bought one sooner. Soldering fumes are nasty business.

Works well, comes with three filters.
After studying all of the under $100 fume extractors I could find online and in catalogs, I decided on this one. It works pretty well as long as it is within about a foot of the soldering iron tip. It is a bonus that two extra filters are included. It is not silent, but I prefer the fan noise to breathing soldering fumes. Highly recommended.
