I've just unpacked it and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price paid. The handle is comfortable to hold and the rubber grip feels very secure (not that I expect to be holding it often!), the shaft is tapered so has some flexibility at the end and the keeper is good quality leather, although it does smell a little strange.It makes a nice swish through the air and my calf is still stinging from a moderate tap. So yes, do be careful who you give this to!

My boyfriend and I bought this for personal use and we love it. He enjoys it so much. Love the rubber grip so it will not slide out of his had, The price was very and it is very well made as well. I would recommend this item to anyone that would be looking to get it.We love it. :)

Taken this to parties, worn for costumes, and I use it at home quite a bit. Apparently, it's supposed to be for horses?

Bought & took to the Mozambique Horse Safari; did the five day ride through the bush near Vilanculos and on Benguerra Island. Didn't need as horses were wonderful. Left for use in lessons so no comment on longevity--seemed like a great crop. (Obviously had a great time on the ride--check out the MHS on Facebook for some stunning photos--great equestrian vacation!)

This delivers more sting than I was expecting! If you are not looking for anything too intense, skip on this one. However, if you can handle a little sting and happen to like whip marks/bruises then you might enjoy this.

I ADORE this crop! I love that it has the split leather, rather than the loop (no worry about pesky cracking issues on the tip). The leather end is neither too wide nor too thin, the rubber handle is comfortable and, on a side note, it makes the most wonderful sound :)

What I love about this product is that it makes a great sound without hurting too badly. It also gives a pink effect on the skin with a few whacks, again without her using the safe word. All in all, it's a win win

This crop is made very well. The one I received has a loop on the end. Maybe a little bit long, but thats just an adjustment in style. We don't have horses or any other livestock, but this was for her pleasure and compliance.
