It’s a bit laggy When you type and not nearly as sensitive as the original screen or other professional replacements Ive had done with other non-Apple brands. You have you press way harder on the screen for it to sense your touch. The color isn’t up to snuff. Everything now looks ever so slightly ‘warmer’.I just completed my installation and Just typing this is making me realize I will just be getting a new phone in the near future. It takes twice the amount of time to type on this screen.Tools- I love that it came with adhesive for water resistance (however, there are no instructions on how to apply it, or even a label to let you know that the blue transparent sheet is even adhesive). The thick screen protector is great. The 2-step wipes (wet then dry) which I used before putting the screen protector on left my new screen looking dirty and streaky- even after wiping and wiping and wiping. You must use the included fabric to wipe it effectively. The plastic ‘spluger’ tool given to separate the old screen from the metal rim is useless and frustrating. I ended up with bits of plastic in between the crevice. It should be made of metal. The tweezers are a huge help for the small parts. The screw drivers all worked very well. The suction cup meant to help pull up the old screen is useless. With a cracked screen, how is it to be flush against the screen and actually suction/stick?I’m happy that the home button works perfectly and the haptic feedback is the same as it was before. It’s nice and flush against the new screen as well.The amount of time it’s taken to type this and amount typos I’ve had to correct in this review, due to the lack of sensitivity and screen lag, is insane. This will not be working for me long term.This product is fine for the price, especially considering we’re in a time of DIY everything. I’d much rather have paid the $100 to have a perfectly operating screen.

This is the 2nd screen I ordered and wow.. it was easy, simple and it worked. I loved how there was already the 2nd plate installed and it came with instructions booklet.I ordered my 1st screen from another seller and the screen didn’t work. Also, I had to transfer the plate to the new screen.I like how this seller has the 2nd plate attached. It was one less step for me to do or worry about. Installed the screen in about 15 mins.Would recommend this seller to other!

Touch pad works well. Tools,pad, and glue strip, are good. It is just really difficult to transfer button, ear piece, and camera, from old pad.

I literally saved so much money by replacing my screen. I pay for insurance through my phone company and was told that it would be $30 to replace my screen if I ever needed to. Well the time came and my insurance was like "your phone is too old, but we can give you a discount towards a new phone". So obviously I was p*ssed. So I decided to to give it the old DYI try. This kit was awesome. It came with all the parts and tools. The only complaint I have is it came with a replacement seal which I didn't know what that was because it wasn't labeled and wasn't in the instruction book. I did not even realize what it was until my boyfriend pointed it out, after I had already put my phone all back together. Other then that, this kits was great for a first timer replacing her own screen.

Honestly when I seen this on Amazon I didn’t expect much other than garbage on this product but my phone screen was dying like pixels was dying anyway I ordered this and when it came it it shocked me it came with actual premium things and more than usual as this isn’t my first time buying a screen replacement for this phone I honestly could say it’s the best purchase for a phone screen as even the screen is good quality along with the tools

I purchased the screen replacement after my iPhone started to turn black a few times, but before I could replace the screen the phone was working again. As I knew eventually I will end up with a cracked screen, I decided to wait. Months later it was time, I pulled out the replacement screen and I realized somehow I ordered the wrong one. I was bummed as the return window has ended, just felt bad to throw out a perfectly new item. So I contacted DIYRepair to see if I can exchange the screen replacement. Wow, immediate response from customer service with the offer of the correct screen. This is awesome customer service, this made me feel like they care.I was very impressed by how well the screen was packaged with foam padding and the needed screw drivers being bigger than the tiny flimsy ones that come with many replacement kits.This all certainly will put DIYRepair on top of my list for future replacement parts and I highly recommend DIYRepair.

Included tools fit the screws well and the different tips were clearly marked on the screwdrivers. EMI shield came preinstalled so installation was a matter of moving the home button and front camera flex over. Three cables and about a dozen screws are all it takes to replace an iPhone screen with this kit! The colors were much better compared to another replacement screen I purchased in the past but not quite OEM. Still, this kit is definitely worth the little extra money versus the $20 ones.

Overall I did like this kit. The new screen is working fine. My advice is that y’all be calm and take your time to remove the screws and make sure to use the right tool to remove it so you do not damage it. It may take some time to open the screen also but you’ll be able to do it. I’m happy with the product I purchased!

PROS: Great product packaging with tools and product experience. Excellent high quality tools that rival bigger companies.CONS: The screen itself is quite subpar compared to the OEM iPhone screen. Typing on the keyboard is not quickly responsive, colours are desaturated and brightness is very dim.To give context I’ve had experience replacing many screens on different phones, and iPads. I’ve also had experience with lower quality screens that didn’t really meet the expectations of the original screens. Because of that for my iPhone 7plus, I wanted to pay a premium to get a high quality screen and decided to go straight to iFixit.com and buy their screen because of their quality standard and excellent repair instructions. Their product experience was great with video instructions and tools but their screen was disappointingly terrible with phantom touches and non responsive and laggy inputs. I was pretty shocked at their price this is the level of quality given.Fast forward, I needed another screen so purchased this one. Price was MUCH CHEAPER and to top it off the tools were actually BETTER and higher quality metal. SIM removal tool, plastic prying tools and screen adhesive all included.Instructions led to iFixit (lol). Overall the package experience and tools included was much better and more affordable.That being said, the screen brightness and saturation was the same as iFixit.I haven’t had any phantom touches and maybe occasional input lag. Keyboard typing is quite bad however. Typing slow is fine but if you type fast like me, you will experience missed key inputs. I only realized how bad it was until I used other phones.Overall, I’ve come to the realization that these after market screens can’t come to the same level of quality as Apple. It’s just impossible. So you either accept that fact and purchase a cheaper screen to get your iPhone back up and running or you have to purchase a second used iPhone 7 Plus and pry the screen off of that to get the original quality, which seems unpractical because you might as well just transfer all your data to that phone and use that and the costs of buying a used iPhone will surpass the costs of buying this screen.Either way, it’s a decent buy to get your phone just working. For daily use however, it can be quite painful.

When buying a phone screen there are many more affordable ones like this one that you have to transfer parts like the home button, the upper camera and phone speaker etc. from the old screen to the new one. These parts are very tiny and hard to handle to transfer but can be done with patience. That being said I got it done and the screen works very well. I also replaced the phone battery at the same time (purchased from a different brand). There was an issue I thought with the screen, I emailed DIY Repair using the tech support e-mail address in the installation manual and had a very quick response helping me find the issue. It turns out the screen is fine but the battery I installed is a bit bulkier than the original and is pressing slightly on the back of the screen causing a small bright dot on the bottom left of the screen. When you fix these phones I suggest replace one item at a time if you can to see if any issues result. Big thumbs up to DIY Repair for their quality product and excellent support. I have no idea how to contact the battery people for a proper fit replacement.
