Carburetor Repair Rebuild Kits For Honda XL75 XR75 XR80 XL XR CR 75 80 (XA03006 46-149

Majority of this kit was to spec. The low end jet had the wrong thread pitch, unfortunately for me that’s specifically why I ordered a rebuild instead of a carb in full. As to not cross thread my factory Honda carb housing I’m not going to force it in there and need to retread something that small later. The other jet threaded in fine, everything else went on smooth. It was my intention to only use the low end jet from the rebuild and keep all the other parts as spares for the new carb coming. I spent 2 days doing an ultrasonic cleaning mixed with high pressure air and trying different products to open up the old low end jet. And that process mixed with the other new pieces from this kit leaves me a decent carb build.

99 xr80 I mainly ordered for the bowl gasket and float needle. This is not a direct oem kit. I tried some of the other stuff just because. If you use this kit you will have lots of guess work in tuning your carb. The float is significantly smaller than oem. The jet needle seat sits 2x as high as oem. Pilot and main jets are not marked or labeled so there size is a mystery. The pilot jet has a different thread pitch and wont even screw in. Idle mixture screw has a flat tip instead of pointed but still works. And the float bowl gasket is just not quite the right shape to drop in but I was able to make it work with a little bit of grease to get it to stick. But hey float needle works
