A lifesaver!
I'm a medical doctor in family practice. It's absolutely invaluable in the examination of infants, toddlers and young children who do not like going to the doctor. The non invasive nature makes things so much easier!!

Great Unit
This is a wonderful unit. I am a home health nurse and I get quick accurate readings without having to put the thermometer on the patient . Patients love it to because it is so fast. So far it is holding up well using several times a day.

Horribly random readings
This thermometer isn't any better than any other surface temperature thermometer I've seen or used. The only difference is that it "compensates" for what "could be" the difference between a surface temperature and body temperature. Temperatures can vary across a surface and simply taking a surface temperature at the forehead isn't going to give you an accurate body temperature regardless of what calculations are done inside the thermometer. I can take my my own, my spouse's or my child's temperature, either sick or well, and come up with a number every time if I do it a dozen times in the same general area of the forehead. Completely inaccurate. Even inner-ear is better. Heck, I dare say that sticking a digital thermometer under the arm and adding 1° is more accurate, but I think I'll stick with oral from now on.
