FroBo - Freezable Pet Dish with Base

Kept the water cool for about four hours, way beyond my expectations. I've read bad reviews, about possibly chemicals leaching into it, thus the four stars. But I don't see how that would be possible as the blue ice pack is NOT porous at all. It's smooth and flat, even with a 10x magnifier. It's easy to store in the freezer, then pop out right before we take Bentley to the dog park. Very convenient and does exactly what it claims. Of course, i can't say that cool water is any better for Bentley than ambient temp water, but for humans it makes a difference, so I'm guessing it does for dogs, too.

This product seems impractical to use for most people. It requires the bowl be stored in the freezer laying flat (and upside down). The bowl is rather shallow and thus fairly large in diameter, thereby needing a good deal of space.Additionally, the instructions say to not use and soap/detergent on the freezer part of the dish, which doesn't seem very sanitary.Lastly, the bowl base is huge, over a foot across and seems too large except for larger dogs. The pictures don't allow for an appreciation of the large size. The bowl size is given as 24 ounces, which doesn't seem like a lot, when I think of the polar bowls, I already have, which hold 28 ounces and are only 6.5 inches across.I am returning these bowls as not usable for my purposes or situation.

I bought this bowl so that when we go out on a day trip, we can leave wet food down for our cats and they will have fresh, unspoiled food all day long. In theory, this is a good product, but the problem is it doesn't stay cold all day. When we get home, after being gone about 8 hours, the bowl is completely room temperature. I am not sure how long it actually stays cold.

My dogs don't drink from their other bowls anymore, even in the winter (I live in San Diego). It just makes the water stay fresh. The only improvement they could make is making it bigger. If you have a large dog or more than one dog, they empty it fairly fast. Great product!

Buy it for your pets you will not be disappointed. I live in the South and it can get very hot here. I place this in the freeze daily, fill it full of water and keep it outside on the porch for my cats to have cold drinking water on those hot blistering summer days. It keeps the water cold all day long. They love it. Buy it for your pets they will not be disappointed either.

I bought this for my sisters outdoor pets . She says it keeps the water from getting hot but doesn't keep it as cool as advertised .

Living in Australia and having to contend with hot summer days, I found this bowl a real blessing for my dog who doesn't enjoy hot days at all! I In the past I have made ice blocks for her but they don't last. This product keeps the water cool for hours and does exactly what the description says it will do.Most happy!

The bowl is good, but when left out in the sun the blue gel turns green and it doesn't stay cold as long after.
