Great little phones
I bought 2 of these phones at a fraction of what it would have cost me at Walmart, never mind buying it from Verizon. I have nothing but good things to say about this phone...It is an affordable smart phone with a lot of extras. fyi take your phone to verizon for activating and have them put the screen saver on. I destroyed both of mine and finally bought 2 others and brought to Verizon who gladly put them on... PS Verizon does NOT charge for activating these phones.. an "authorized" dealer will charge you $35.00 per line....NOT COOL Use a corporate store. (I do not work for Verizon and actually don't like them, but they work in my area where no one else does) So this review is real and truthful...

This simple phone is great! Good battery life
This simple phone is great! Good battery life. The camera is not the best, but I don't mind. Fun keyboard! Also, great sound surprisingly. Not huge like most smartphones now. Replaceable battery. Love where the screen lock button is - below the volume up and down, so it's easy to turn the screen on and off.

Quality phone, though little storage
My son's review: I got this phone when too low on money to get something super nice, I really just needed something that would function as a phone and perform basic functions. Upon receiving the phone I was initially surprised at the build quality and decent-sized screen. I was braced for the 8 GB it offered, though I didn't realize that most of that was taken up by the system itself, leaving me with exactly 3.66 GB of my own. I'm not sure how much bloatware creeps into that amount, I just know I have a very limited amount of apps I can use. Even with the 128 GB Micro-SD card I was able to add, I cannot use that extra storage for more apps. It seems it lets me transfer some of the data to the SD card in the settings, but I am unsure how much that actually helps. The only game I have is an GBA emulator to utilize my SD card space. It does feel funny to be able to fit the 3 season entirety of Avatar: The Last Airbender on my SD card without being able to have more than a couple games. Other than the space, the performance has seemed pretty solid in the last 8 or so months I've had it, a little laggy near the end of the day on occasion, but nothing that is too much of a deal-breaker. The camera's quality is pretty meh, I haven't used it besides taking a picture of the board in school for later reference. It captures the words ok, but isn't good enough for real pretty pictures. The volume is great in a quiet room, meh in a somewhat noisy room, and barely audible in a crowded cafeteria or something similar. I'd say that's fair for what I needed it for anyway. The screen is fairly bright, a little hard to see in broad sunlight, but still readable. The battery is pretty good, though I don't use my phone for games much, so I don't know how well it would work then. I do know when I use it to read books all day I end up with a battery nearly out by the end of the day. Most days though, I end it with a decent 40-ish percent. Better than my Mom's iPhone in that standing, though I'm sure she uses it a lot more. All in all, I'd give the phone a thumbs up, ESPECIALLY considering that I got it for the low-low price of sixty dollars. I couldn't have asked for much better at that price. With a good size screen, nice feel in hand (though slippery without a case), fair battery life, fair speakers, and meh camera, the only real downside is the cramped storage space. This is still mostly a transition phone until you can get something better, because in the long term that 3.66 GB of storage just won't last. I guess one should have expected that at the price-stamp anyway.Side-note: Another thing I disliked about this phone is the HTC interface. This is because I am picky and love the stock android look, so I was disappointed when I dragged down on the top of the screen and found a bunch of clutter, especially all the stuff you see on the top of the screen most of the time with the battery, wifi, data, alarm, and a bunch of other crap. The volume graphic looks meh as well. I thought this was fine, thinking I would just root it and change the OS to look nicer, but after lots of research, I found that this phone is UNROOTABLE. HTC had a mechanism that made it so it would have been easy to unlock the bootloader, but Verizon actually blocked that feature, making it completely impossible. That is especially disappointing considering that could have freed up some of the storage space by removing bloatware on this thing, but nupe. Too bad. I probably care about this sort of thing more than the average person would, so if most of those words went over your head, just don't worry about this part.

Would buy it again!
This is a wonderful phone that is a great value for the price. I was worried that the functionality would be limited because of its affordability, but I have been incredibly pleased. This phone can even be used on a verizon plan that isn't prepaid. We have since switched from our prepaid to a post-paid plan with no issue. My husband works in a rugged environment and the phone has thus far held up well (we did buy a case and screen protector), but even if there was an incident and it broke I would buy this phone again to replace it. Not many other phones at this price point have the front facing camera as well, which makes using our google hangouts app to video chat when he travels super easy.

DO NOT BUY
Got this phone after my Moto G went bad after a year and a half of heavy usage . was looking to fo to something a little more up to date.seemed this one would be great so i bought it because it was 4G and thats a big step from the moto g's 3G and it had a quad core processor in it again big step from the Dual of the moto G as well as the sd card slot for extra storage how ever here are the things i did not like about this phoneBecause of the HTC Home and sync which is HTC's little operating system on top of androids the battery life is crap as soon as i would take the phone off charge and check either Facebook or my email the phone will lose roughly 7 to 9% of battery usually 2 to 3% right off the charger Because of the HTC stuff That in no way be turned off surfing the web or playing games is limited if you are not connected to you charger at all times you may get 4 to 5 hours of battery life. the sd card finding pics and things you stored on the card is such a hassle on this device unless you connect to a computer. Also making calls is a challenge unless using a head set of some sorts because the screen does not auto turn off and you will either mute the person, hang up on them or start calling other people. that was a nightmare for me as i take care of my Brother in-law and during conversations with his Doctors as well as my Doctors i have hung up on them during very important conversations because the screen will trun itself back on. then not having the phone but for a few short months 2-3 i think the phone started having major issues with opening up app specifically the Car app every 5 seconds even after selecting don't show me again it still opens up. now the the phones screen wont stay off even when not using the phone if i turn off the screen it will turn on by its self . cant text anyone because the keyboard app closes after every letter you push. Web browsing is a no go because the browser keeps randomly opening and closing on you phone freezes up and now after 3-4 mins on charge give or take a min or two the phone will start alarming telling me the internal usb is over heating and has stopped the charge. i have spoken to many people how have HTC phone and the HTC desire 526 and they all have had some of the same issues something about the HTC program running on top of Andriod that it conflicts with each other i do not recommend this Phone to any one. Worst experience i have had with a phone ever. I have never had a bigger piece of crap in my life
