Super Strong Casting Trigger (Black)

Not sure I agree with the cheaply made comment from the other review. Mine was well made and didn't flex very much. It seems to be made of a stonger polymer like delrin, not like cheap plastic. Obviously it isn't as stiff as metal. I used it on my 6000 Penn Fierce and sling 8 oz weights with it on a 14 foot rod, so if it wasn't strong, I wouldn't trust it. I had to deduct a star because it is a blatant copy of the Breakaway Cannon and because at 20$ it is still pretty pricey for a piece of plastic. But after scouring ebay and ali-express, I haven't found anything cheaper than this one. Overall, I was happy enough to buy a second one.

EDIT: Broke on the 2nd fishing trip with less than 30 total casts. Experiment failed.. Didn’t even hold up on my light surf rod. Buy the breakaway!!!Original: Haven’t done anything more than a few casts. But it’s as expected. I have a breakaway cannon and wanted something cheaper for lighter rods so I ordered 2 of these. These aren’t the same fit and finish as the breakaway. One was good out of the box. The other was stiff... I had to back out the drift pin and spend a minute with a Dremel to get good function. One thing I do prefer with these to the breakaway is that the base is slightly longer which is a positive for securing to the rod. All in all good for the money if ur willing to do a little tweaking to get it right. Time will tell if it holds together like the breakaway but the price was right for an experiment at half the cost of the breakaway.

I am new to surfcasting but familiar with freshwater fishing. I had a lot of trouble controlling my casts in the surf with a long rod, heavy lures, and 30# braided line. After a few casts both the line and my hands would be wet making the line very slippery and hard to release with accuracy. This item works great when it is new! With it I can make very long, accurate casts which were rare without the casting trigger. The trouble is none of the steel parts are stainless steel. In a saltwater/sea air environment, the pin corrodes quickly making it unusable due to the trigger not moving freely. I also note corrosion on the components that touch the fishing line directly.

Just as good as the BC1 Breakaway Cannon, at just 2/3rds the price.*In the picture*One of these is an original BC1, the other is the Abu Adiyat “Knock off.” I doubt you can tell which is which. They look and function exactly the same.I expected the knock off to rust out after the first trip to salt water, but it’s holding up perfectly.

The media could not be loaded. This casting trigger is much less expensive than other similar products and works great. I ended up buying two of these - one for each of my surf rods. It is so much easier to get a good long cast when the fishing line is not cutting into your finger! This appliance is easy to use and only takes one or two casts to get used to.

Should have bought the more expensive brand. Worked fine but plastic base broke off back of one of the 2 I used in three trips.

Is perfect for my surf rod

It broke on the first cast. I tried the second one that I bought for another rod. It broke too. I'll just keep using a glove. It is a good idea but, it need to be cast aluminum instead of plastic.
