Return of the Living Dead 2 [Blu-ray]

I don't know if others were originally confused between the two "Return of the Living Dead" movies like I was but one time MANY years ago I saw THIS version on TV and was recently reminded of it's existence. This is definitely more of the comedy version and some consider it a pre-quel to the other sequel that's out there. I enjoy the hokey acting and lines, I'm excited to have this in my lineup for spooky season this year.

1988's "Return of the Living Dead Part II" is nowhere near the landmark 1985 classic "Return of the Living Dead" in terms of quality. The original film which was directed and written by Dan O'Bannon was a horror film punctuated by comedy that arose naturally from the situations that the characters found themselves in. The sequel on the other hand which was written and directed by Ken Wiederhorn veered much more to straight up slapstick comedy. I actually hated the sequel for a while but over the years have warmed to its at times misguided approach. Don't go into it expecting the classic original and you can have a good time.Scream Factory brings "Return of the Living Dead Part II" to blu-ray in a fully loaded collector's edition. It had previously only been available on DVD with a strangely altered soundtrack instead of the original theatrical audio. Scream Factory did a new 2K transfer from the interpositive which looks fantastic. Presented in its original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, the transfer gets a lot of room to breathe on a dual layer disc as the bit rate stays around 35 mbps throughout. Detail is superb, no digital scrubbing or sharpening was done, colors are nicely saturated and contrast levels correct with no black crush occurring during the numerous night scenes. Simply put this is quite possibly the best the film has ever looked.On the audio side, thankfully the original theatrical audio has been restored in 2 channel master audio. (The controversial altered audio track from the DVD edition is also included which is nice from a completionist angle.) Some people have complained online that the original audio track is a bit thin sounding and might have been sourced from the VHS audio or a similar analog type due to a weird slight audio anomaly that is heard at the 52:45 mark which reminds some of when a VHS tape's tracking got slightly off. With parts 1 and 3 already having received their own fully loaded special edition blu-rays courtesy of Scream Factory and Lionsgate respectively, you cannot go wrong picking this edition of Part 2 up. Highly recommended and would someone please get that d@mn screwdriver out of my head!

Yes. The audio on this Blu-ray is from the original release. You no longer need to keep your VHS copy on your shelf with your collection. I don’t get rid of my VHS tapes, so it will be going into storage. It’s amazing how big of a difference music can make. This version of the movie is so much better. Haven’t been this happy with a Blu-ray purchase in quite a while.

I saw this movie years ago so when I came across it again on Amazon I decided to buy it. BUYERS BEWARE!!!! Do not buy from a seller on Amazon called "M&M ENTERTAINMENT" This seller is a total fraud, she takes everybody money and claim her fiance stole it and she can't send you your order because she has no money to ship, she also tells you your order is delay because she just started her business on Amazon but had shipped your order already and you should be getting it soon. It's all a scam people. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER, EVER!!! My mistake was I didn't check her feedbacks before I puchased this movie, had I-- I never would have order from M&M Entertainment. I hope Amazon delete this seller account before she steals somebody else's money.I ordered this movie Return of the living dead part 2 because I have part one and like them both. Order it on July 7th from M&M Entertainment and for 4 days it's been saying shipping soon. contacted seller "M&M Entertainment" on the 10th to find out why and got a reply my order was delay b/c of backup orders and no money to ship--but that mine was ship out on the 10th. Last EDD was the 30th I contacted seller again and she claimed her fiance stole her money, however she already shipped my order out on the 30th and she gave me her cellphone number to call her which I refused to do. I contacted Amazon instead. I no longer believe this seller, saw her feedbacks and saw that others had the same problem with this seller! Over 65 complaints in 30 days? Good Lord! People you gotta check those FEEDBACKS! Lesson learn.Other then that, I thought Return of the living dead was a good movie, them zombies cracks us up. LOL kept us laughing... Send more brains!!!ROTFL I will be ordering it again from a seller I am familiar with and had dealth with in the past with good experiences. Shame on you M&M Entertainment, shame!!!

It took me a while to find a reasonably priced bluray for this movie title just as well as the first one (even that one was expensive) but I bought this mainly because I wanted to watch it again and see what my late step-dad loved about these types of movies, it’s just as funny as the first not as scary though only because know what to expect after the first one, good movie, package came in a day ahead of time from the person I bought it from on her very well protected

More cheesy fun and still some cool horror to enjoy here 🤗 The first movie Return Of The Living Dead - is still the Daddy but this sequel is still a nice addition to my DVD horror collection 😍

Het verhaal sluit niet meteen aan op waar zijn voorganger eindigde maar geeft eerder een "andere draai" aan het gegeven. Dit gegeven zorgt ervoor dat men de twee films los van elkaar kan bekijken, al wordt er wel een referentie gemaakt naar zowel het voorgaande deel als naar de film "Night of the Living Dead" uit 1968.
