TThis product is made to be part of a recipe... not eaten right out of the container. It has quite a salty taste when dry and just taken from the jar. By the way these slices of beef are sold in small glass jars, similar to those that people used to serve juice in. Remove the label and soon your family will have a new set of glasses. First you make a white cream sauce with flour, Butter and Milk. Take the dried beef out of the jar and cut it into the size pieces that your family enjoys and put it into the pot with the cream sauce. While the beef is gently cooking in the cream sauce, make some buttered toast. At this point I add a few frozen sweet peas. Just a few - this is NOT a stew. Iwe just want some color and a little taste of the peas. Only heat the peas in the creamed chip beef until they thaw. Place your finished dish on toast and serve. You can let those you are serving add their own salt or pepper.This is a dish that can be whipped up in minutes and your family will love it for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. My family even asks for it as a snack. This dried beef is a wonderful treasure to have several bottles/containers on your pantry shelf for those days when you need something quick and good, or keep a supply if these for a time of emergency! They keep well on the shelf. Even during a power outage, i used my outside gas grill to make this meal including the toast. The kids thought it was a great adventure and the neighbors wanted to know what smelled so yummy. Yes I rate this product very highly.

Best, least expensive way to buy dried beef. We love creamed, chipped beef so making it with this is a no-brainer. Just be sure to soak the beef before adding to the roux; it cuts down on the salt (you can always add more salt to your taste). Also good for seasoning beans and other veggies.

I love to make chipped beef on toast for breakfast this is an excellent chipped beef .

I love this stuff. I chop it and add to eggs before scrambling and to make creamed chipped beef. Homemade cream chipped beef is so much better than the frozen, although I use that too for times I just don't want to cook. The jars all arrived intact and all the vacuum seals were still secure.

I paid for 12 jars of dried beef and I only got eight

Thought I was buying the 5 oz size. Did not know there was a tiny size.

Received my order quickly and this is the best dried beef out there.
