We had trouble with this unit upon arrival. My wife installed this and just couldn't get it to work (I was away on a trip). When I got home, we did some troubleshooting, and it turns out that the battery that came with the unit was dead. We put in a new battery, and everything worked as promised. This was a PITA for my wife, who did everything right but couldn't get it to work.

We tried a couple of app-based dimmers that promised to work with LED string lights. No such luck with our sets from Costco (Feit). Five strings are tied in together across our large backyard and this RF remote controller works brilliantly! Plug it in, turn them on, hit dim. That's how it should work, and this product did the trick!

I bought this unit in March of 2020. The seller at that time was LED Light Shop. I use this to control my patio string lights. It's very convenient to have a remote that allows me to turn the lights on and off. Not only that, but the dimmer feature is one that I especially like. The unit is kind of bulky but it does the job. In May 2021 it simply stopped working without any obvious fault. I replaced the batteries in the remote but to no avail. I contacted LED Light Shop and to their credit they replaced the unit for free. Now it has stopped working again. It's worked for almost a year and a half before it quit. It's the same issue as before: it just stopped working without any obvious fault. There is no way to try to repair the unit as it is sealed. Now I have to order another one. Is it reasonable to think that I would have to replace this unit every 15-18 months? When it works it works very satisfactorily.

Dimmer work right out the box no problem just get a new battery to the remote and that all.I giving it 3 start cause it only work for Two month and quick working.

Dims and full brightness with single click. Preset levels plus complete dimming control. May need a new remote battery when delivered but I suspect not normally. Plug fits under outdoor plug with metal cover.

My hanging string lights I purchased were just way too bright on my front porch and they were attracting the mosquitos so they were attacking my porch. I've had this dimmer for years and I don't regret buying it. It has different settings, I can minimize the lights to add that perfect subtle light to my porch for summer evenings, without attracting a ton of mosquitos. You can even customize and save your own personal light settings. And I love that I have a remote to turn my lights on and off now, I don't have to disconnect the plug so that's a plus.

Am I the only one who is having a problem with this switch. It looks cool it works good. Then it stops working after couple weeks.. Changed the battery but still down. ????
