Minor quality issues
I bought three filter housings from Geekpure two of this style and one with a clear filter housing. I found during installation that the threads in the filter housings, which are a plastic, had difficulty sealing (l’m guessing too much clearance in the threads). In fact, I had to redo all six connections after pressurizing the system. I can’t just fault Geekpure for this because after cleaning the telflon tape out of the threads and re-applying a significant amount more to all the fittings I was able to get them to seal, however it was a pain so knowing this up front might save you some time. I understand it could be the fittings as well, but that’s unlikely because I used a different size and brand of fitting for the clear filter housing model.Additionally one the filter housings I bought of this style is finicky. When installing the filter housing into the cap it’s difficult to get the filter inside to stay centered so you get the threads to catch and this particular housing needs to be significantly tighter than the other two to seal. Finally the pressure release buttons on the top of the filter housing could be better. I had one stick open on me because it misaligned while coming back up, but depressing and releasing again did the trick. After reading this review you may think I choose too many stars, but the reality is the filter housings do exactly what I expect them to do and changing filters no matter how you slice it just sucks. Whichis why I got the big housings so I wouldn’t have to change them as often. So besides the minor quality issues I believe the price and performance of this product earn it a good rating.

Pretty good!
I'm very glad I got these taller filters instead of the usual 10" ones. My well has a ton of iron in it, both chunks (taken out by the 60 mesh/250 micron spindown filter I installed) and silty sludgey stuff. I expected this, so I installed two of these big blue filters, one 50 micron coarse followed by a 25/1 micron combination filter, before going to the water softener and then UV sterilizer. Installation was pretty standard.Pro Tip: use Teflon tape on threaded connections, with pipe dope on top of that. I had no leaks from the threaded connections on the filters.Pro tip#2, Daughter of Pro Tip: lube the O-rings with silicone grease. What did leak is where the blue cartridge holder meets the black housing. It takes a surprising amount of force to tighten it enough so it doesn't leak, and one of mine still has a very slow drip.As you can see in my photo, I installed a bypass for these blue filters (and sterilizer and spindown filter), which I highly recommend. It's expensive, if you're weird like me and use 1" copper anyway, because it requires three valves and more pipe, but it's handy to still have water when working on the filters. It's also a good backup in case something goes wrong. All in all, so far these are good filter housings. I don't care all that much about any very small leaks from that area, as my system is in an area that can get wet. I might feel differently if it was in my hardwood floored fine art basement though.

Disappointed
The bracket is stupid cheap and flimsy its advertised to me being a 3/4 inch fitting on the inlet and outlet ports I may be wrong it came to me having one inch ports the mounting part on the top of the filter isnt taped and is a nightmare to tap your self disappointed this could of Ben a much more reliable product the head design makes me think it doesn't capture and hold the filter worth a damn nor dose it flow water as well as it could

Leaky McLeakerson
Ordered & received two units to put in parallel for more filtering area. Looked good out of the box except for a broken thread on one housing but it was on the last part of the thread so I thought I would be alright. After installation by a certified plumber both units leaked at both the inlets/outlets and where the housing screws on despite using food grade silicon grease. There's not enough teflon tape in the world to fix these leaks. Returned both and now in search of a better product.

Solid Blue Filter Housing
This housing in the "big blue" style configuration at 4.5 inch diameter X 20 inches long is highly suitable for the installation of my four (4) stage filtration system. The units are well made, easily installed, come with all items to support installation and operation except for the filters (which is fine with me), are good value, and the vendor is responsive. I am very satisfied with this product.

It's bad
Brass inserts leak bad. Don't waste your time with this look somewhere else. Used threading compound on the threads never had a problem with any plumbing project this big problem with these see the other reviews don't believe the good ones

Ordered 3/4 fittings and got 1" brass
Haven't tested the product yet but I ordered 3/4 and got 1" with a brass insert, didn't notice until I mounted them all on the wall

Missing parts
Did not come with mounting bracket. Reason for the low rating, this is the 2nd product and both have been either wrong or missing something.

Good and economical filter solution!
I saw a few negative reviews so I was initially hesitant to purchase the filter. I purchased a few and this is my review of the unit. The filter housing and price are good. The plastic part can not take the heat from soldering the copper pipes, therefore; the soldering needs to be completed for a short distance before attaching it to the housing. In case that you are familiar with plumbing and have experience then purchase the model with 1" fittings as it includes a brass insert in the plastic housing which is stronger and less susceptible to getting damaged during installation. Here are a few recommendation to prevent the filter or housing from leaking:- Use the pink Teflon tape on the threads- Apply O-ring lubricant to the O-ring washer in the housingWe have been this and other filters with the city water and we have noticed a significant improvement in the quality, taste and smell of the local water.

Works perfectly
Had a challenge finding a male threaded 1" fitting going to 3/4 PEX for this unit and opted for galvanized bushings unfortunately to get the job done. But it has no leaks we put iron filtering media in and has absolutely solved our iron issues.

Leaks
This is a good solid housing, but it leaks from the gasket. I tried applying silicone grease to the o-ring and Teflon tape to the threads, but it still leaks. Feeling the mating seal surface in the cap, it feels rough. No wonder it leaks.

Factory deficiency costs me extra to install twice!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I hired a plumber to do the install and once installed, a leak was found within the factory sealed part of the big blue housing. Assuming the part will be replaced, I will still be on the hook for paying the plumber again to replace the faulty part

Cracked housing
Very frustrated with this purchase. When I opened the box there was some little plastic pieces sitting in there. Turns out they were part of the housing that aligns the filter. Three were proken off and three were intact. I thought no big deal I can make this work anyways. I installed everyting and turned the water on and it leaked. Took it apart 5 times and checked the O-ring and reasembled with no success. Took the housing off and inspected for defects and noticed the the housing was cracked so here I am writing a bad review. I definatly do not recomend this product as it was most likley shipped broken as it is almost impossible for those pieces to break off in transit because they are inside the housing.
