My grandchild is 9 1/2, and had a blast putting this together. Even the instructions were very understandable for a child -- for the most part. Now, make no mistake, adult assistance will be needed a couple of times just due to what is needed and a child being unable to assemble it completely alone. BUT, aside from that, my grandchild loved attaching the wires and having that experience of building a toy primarily alone, that also worked very well. Despite it looking weak, it is pretty durable and it was extremely fun with a built-in sense of accomplishment. Will not only definitely buy again, but will also recommend.

My son is nine and I had to help him a little bit putting it together, but that was kind of the point as far as I was concerned. I wanted something we could do together and this was it.

This was the almost perfect gift for my son who just turned 9 who is into building/ creating things! The fact that he had to plug the electronics together and build the car itself was great! There was one small wiring part that i needed to do, but he did the rest. It drives surprisingly well, and i look forward to getting other versions of this.Cons for this one i would say that, where the 'front' connects to the 'back' is a little weak so i had to help support it when he was screwing that section together. Also after you attach the 'person' you are supposed to flip it upside down to screw in the piece that holds the batteries from falling out. Again i had to support that so the character wouldnt break. I would have much rather seen just a battery cover like you see on your remote, as you will have to un screw this last piece everytime you need to change batteries.

My 11 year old grandson is pretty stem savvy and this kit definitely held his interest. Well made, fun to assemble and operate.

Easy and fun

Neat little kit with decent instructions for my 10 year old daughter. Only part she needed help with was the wiring(she wanted to solder rather than twist the wires) and fitting the rear wheels. The supplied axle is 2mm, the rear wheels needed a 3mm axle. A little heat fixed that, just squish in the part of the wheel where the axle goes a bit after a few seconds of heat to reduce the diameter. I used wire crimpers and went for a triangular approach to keep it as symmetrical as possible.Overall, this was a lot of fun and a great learning experience. Right sized drive wheels would’ve gotten this 5 stars.
