Good cotton based product as described. (Don't worry about the enclosed Warning Label)
UPDATED Dec 2023: I spoke with a rep by phone at ATS and she stated that the warning notification is required because these cotton batts are stored in the same warehouse with products made of other source materials, like fiberglass. So this product does not have fiberglass in it but the warning is included due to storage. Sounds reasonable. Updating this review. My first acoustic panel has turned out good... now to make 5 moreNov 2023: Just received these and am excited to put them to use in my home studio for better acoustics. I bought these because they are not a fiberglass product, but instead primarily cotton-based according to the Amazon product description which states, "Product Description: Acoustical Cotton Batts are an eco-friendly alternative to fiberglass or mineral wool acoustic insulation. The natural cotton fibers are 100% recyclable and are made from at least 85% post-industrial recycled content, making them ideal for LEED certified projects. ATS Acoustics does not recommend this material for use in applications requiring a fire rating."However, in the package was included a Warning Label stating "Product Safety Information. Fiberglass Wool or Mineral Wool Product. Warning: possible inhalation hazard. Can cause respiratory, skin, and eye irritation."The enclosed packing list states "ATS Acoustical Cotton Batts."So, WHICH is it? Cotton or Fiberglass based?

Professional Voice Actor Highly Recommends for a Studio
Wow this works so well at dampening sound. It is so much easier to work with than fiberglass. They are made of cotton so they are nice and soft. No itch. No stink. They smell kind of like chocolate for a while but that smell is not unpleasant and goes away soon. I have treated my voice over studio with by building individual panels and placing them all around the room. When you walk into the studio the world just closes in on you. It's awesome. It is so quiet, with no reverb. I am a professional voice actor. I highly recommend this product and have been using it for over 5 years.

Safer choice vs fiber boards
I bought 3 cases to make panels for my home theater and for my HiFi room. After months of research I settled on these. All 18 where close enough to 2” within an 1/8”. Not building a watch am building panels. Overall very happy with the quality of the product. No off gassing or weird smell. Wife much happier then using fiberglass. Shipping is alittle high so buy in bulk and you will save on shipping. Will be buying more for bass traps. Highly recommended

The Best Sound Improvement for the Money!
I don't have a dedicated theater/music room, so I decided to keep the acoustic panels in a closet until I’m ready to watch a movie or listen to music. These cotton batts are perfect to be used in this way. Since they’re rigid enough on their own to lean against something without collapsing and they don't seem to be friable at all, there’s really no reason to frame and cover them. I’d rather keep them soft and light weight so they’re easier to handle and can’t hurt anything, and even if they do lose some fibers as I move them around it’s only cotton. The sound improvement is huge! I’m almost 60 and have been a low budget audiophile all my life (my current system costs about $7,000 including the TV) and for the first time now I fully understand the term 'audio fatigue'. Reducing the wall sound reflections in my room tightens and crisps up the music or sound track noticeably increasing my easiness and even my eagerness to listen. For the money nothing could have made this big of an improvement. No way!A note for those planning some sort of frame or cover, the batts aren’t 2” thick they’re 1-1/2”.

good option, be aware of limitations
Used to reduce noise btw my space and my rental. It replaced pink insulation and performs slightly better. The most dramatic change was for mechanical sounds like loud hvac units. For voices, it muffled so what is being said is not clear, but I can still hear that someone is talking. For us, that was an improvement. Was somewhat hard to cut - I was probably using the wrong blade and method.
