Inaccurate - And I'm a licensed Med Tech!!
I bought this hoping it may help track my ongoing anemia requiring transfusions. I'm a licensed Med Tech in Calif. so have worked in labs all my life. I know how to perform a fingerstick properly and follow instructions for analyzers. I also worked in a blood bank which perform fingerstick hemoglobins on every donor for the FDA so this is not a new concept for me.I wanted to track my ongoing anemia so I wouldn't end up in ER's getting transfusions - maybe have a heads up and schedule OP settings. So even though my symptoms felt like I was close to a 9 gram Hgb, the meter not only read 10, it went UP!. When I saw the MD and had lab drawn, it was DOWN to 9.0 (from 9.8 two week earlier). I went straight home to compare. Results were 10.7 and 10.4 on the meter. Same day, 1 hr later. 2 different fingers and sticks. Far cry different from 9.0.Very inaccurate.

Bordering on Useless
I purchased this meter (along with necessary accessories) to provide hemoglobin readings for a person suffering with anemia. What I found was wild inaccuracies when compared to weekly laboratory testing. Somewhat dumbfounded by the results, I returned to the description to look for the stated accuracy to find the word "accuracy" isn't even present in the description. What kind of medical instrument doesn't quote a percentage deviation for accuracy? That is a norm. It would be dangerous to rely on inaccurate readings when assessing medical conditions. I recommend against purchasing this device.

Waste of $$$
This meter measures (accurately, we assume) capillary blood in which Hgb levels may vary dramatically from sample to sample. It is not as accurate a measure of Hgb levels as a test by a lab on a vein drawn sample. Users needing accurate readings of Hgb levels to schedule transfusions, for example, need to rely on lab drawn samples and values, not these inadequately accurate tests. And, BEWARE...the seller will nor accept a return on the device when it proves inadequate to the task.

Incomplete items
I typically do not write reviews, but this was an extremely bad purchase. The set came incomplete ass all accessories have to be purchased separately: lancets, controls, Testing strips and very poor instructions. Total waste of my money

Chip reader is broken
The chip code reader was broken when I first tried to use this product. I called Germaine directly and they told me what to look for and one of the pins on the code reader was broken. Now I'm getting the run around about a refund.
