Charcoal Companion Porcelain-Coated Grilling Grid - CC3079

When I bought this, I thought it was the same as the cast-iron pan my mom uses on the grill, so this was a really pleasant surprise. It works just as well for grilling veggies – or anything, I just use it for vegetables – but it’s much lighter than cast-iron and it cleans up really easily. Also haven’t had any trouble with rusting! A great, versatile option to use with our grill. (The food cooks very nicely on it as well, I don’t see any real difference between this and the heavier one I was using my mother’s in terms of results.)

This is a very well made grilling tray that's perfect for a one or two servings of grilled vegetables or even fish filets. Bear in mind that it is a smaller tray -- if you're usually cooking for 4 or more people you will probably want a larger grid. I use this tray all the time to grill marinated vegetables like peppers, mushrooms and onions. Food doesn't stick to it and cooks perfectly. It's really an exellent tool for grilling. It's very easy to wash up with soap and water after use (assuming you aren't OCD and don't take steel wool to it to make it factory fresh -- it will have a chef's patina after being exposed to open flames and char-grilled food).

This grill grid felt and looked amazing. It’s heavy (good) and seems to be coated with a good nonstick surface.The downside was the length of the handles were not included in the overall length dimension. If it didn’t have handles, it would have fit in my grill.I plan on purchasing the smaller item.

Worked as expected.

I put it on the charcoal grill and the heat literally melted and warped the pan so bad it’s not even worth using again. I even waited for the flames to die down before placing it on the grill, yet it’s still destroyed. Wasted my money on this product.

This grilling grid is great. I use it in my smoker when I smoke a ham, meatloaf or make homemade bacon. The holes lets the grease and oils drain away from the meat and provides access for the smoke to reach every part of the meat. This grid is strong and provides good support when carrying the meat back and forth from the smoker. The porcelain coating makes this grid very easy to clean. We have also used this for making cookies, toast bread and pizza in the oven. This grid works great for grilling veggies or fish on the barbecue. I highly recommend this grid for easy grilling, smoking, baking and clean up after its use.

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but using this grid is not quite like grilling. It kind of shields whatever you're cooking, and keeps it from getting the full radiant heat from the grill. I had bought it for grilling vegetables without them falling through the grill grate (on a propane grill), but the result was lacking the flavor and complexity of the same vegetables that had been put directly on the grill. Still better than if I had oven-roasted or pan-fried the veggies, but they didn't have the same finish as the ones directly on the grill. I think I will still use this grid for roasting the more difficult veggies or possibly fish, because the non-stick surface and small holes really do keep things from sticking or falling into the fire, but I don't think I'll use it as much as I had originally intended.

These pans fit sideways in a pitboss smoker. Three maximum to fill it. They seem to come clean wonderfully in the dishwasher.

Overall the grid 33 cm long (13 in) and may not fit into a mini oven. 27.8 cm is the inside dimension. Amazon just copied what is on the wrapper. I put 2 stars because of this misleading information. I have returned it.
