Icebreaker Game for Great Conversations

Played this game the first time at a friend's birthday party, there were a lot of unfamiliar faces but this game quickly changed that! Hypothetically Fun is a great icebreaker game if you are having a group of friends over who aren't well-acquainted with one another.The questions are also set so that anyone can easily read the mood of the group (i.e. family-friendly group, college group, etc...), they are all set to be quite PG (even with it's different categories, and are quite friendly to all age groups), but it is up for the group and players to decide how that takes the turn (and thus quite flexible, the questions are cleverly worded so that even a more raunchy group can make it their style). It is a simple game that anyone can pick up and also great at getting to know each other well because it's mainly aimed at getting each other to force their opinions or their thoughts (thus why I think it's a fantastic icebreaker game).I would highly recommend this to those who frequent host parties, get-togethers, or simply those who enjoy collections of games to play. This one is definitely one of those safe-bet games I would have in my arsenal, it's a party saver for any situations!- Joshua Wu

I use these with my students. I like thay they are broken up into categories. They like it and they are high schoolers.

I got this based on the great reviews. I used it at our Thanksgiving dinner. We had several relatives that we’d never met so I thought it would be perfect. Some of the questions were a bit too personal and a little more than Awkward for some to answer.

HF genuinely exceeded my expectations! I love a good icebreaker, but this one genuinely is unique IMO for a couple reasons:1. The questions are written in such a way that leaves room for open interpretation. There are only basic, foundational rules, so how interesting this game gets can totally be up to your imagination.2. You surprisingly learn so much about another person! I've been playing this with both close friends and strangers, and it gets equally interesting with either party. I thought I knew a lot about my friends, but apparently not after using these questions!This has quickly become one of my purse's essentials since purchasing and I have no regrets. Portable, affordable, and well designed, heads will probably be turning at your fun contribution to parties, long road trips, or team socials. <3

"Satan opens Heck, a lighter version of Hell. What kind of tortures are inside?"Eternally inconvenienced? Feet tickles? Hitting a red light every time you're at an intersection? Read the question out loud and literally had co-workers perking up to share what they think would be the worst possible mild tortures and first world problems.It's a great game for breaking the ice with people you don't know (yet) or playing with friends and pulling out their fun side. The questions are fun and interesting, but still family-friendly enough so there's no awkward risk of pulling out a card that would be uncomfortable for strangers or acquaintances to answer or read out loud (phew).Recommend!

The first time I extensively played it was at a holiday party with my teammates. Someone received it as a white elephant gift, and hey why not have some hypothetical fun with it? Most of my teammates were my friends while I was still trying to gain familiarity with new members. Questions were crazy fun and topics you wouldn't think to discuss on a daily basis. Really gets those minds going. Creative juices across the board. With both new and old faces, we all got a little too comfortable with each other by the end of the night. (and yes I'm into that ;))

Just what I was looking for!!! I'm a high school teacher and positive group interaction is a must for me. I had a chance to use the cards today and my students really enjoyed interacting with them. I like that they are organized by categories and saves me so much time. I'm using them to establish group norms and procedures for group work and there are so many different ways you can use them. I started these as an ice breaker with the silly questions but I can definitely use them to get my students to think deeper and start having real conversations with some of the other cards, or even just as a game. I highly recommend this game for educators and also anybody else looking to start up a good conversation.
