Looks good, fits together nicely - not yet fished it.
Product I ordered is rated at the M/MH casting rod - depending on which rod segment is installed at the time of usage. This is only a preliminary review as I have received the pole, but have not yet fished with it. So I will update this review later this spring when fishing season opens (ice off). But my initial impression of this rod is that it makes for a great, flexible piece to have for "out-of-town" uses. For years I have used Fenwick rods with very good results, so seeing this option intrigued me. I will use it when traveling for business in areas that have accessible ponds and water. I like the dual rating in a single rod depending on the rod segments used at any given time. FWIW, I will spool a corresponding travel reel with primarily a medium braid line and then tie on a leader for the needs of use at the time - allowing me to have one travel rod/reel combo.I was impressed enough with the build, fit and finish that I ordered a second one to give to my son for him to keep in his car for spur of the moment fishing options.I will add to this after fishing it. I will comment on the stability, balance and sensitivity (considering it's a multi-piece rod).

Bonefish in Mexico
Bought a pair of the HMG Casting Rods for my trip to Playa Del Carmen, and couldn't be any happier with the way they performed. The medium tip took the fast shock of a 30" Bone and handled it beautifully. Not once did I find myself thinking about it being a "travel rod" when I was using it. The feel is identical to a 1pc and I was very skeptical that it would be.One more point. The guides are amazing. I was using 30lb Sufix "coastal camo" braid, and a 7'+ long 30lb fluoro leader, which requires casting the knot (Albright) through the guides. ZERO issues doing this and had no hangups or other problems. As an additional bonus they are also silent, even with the braid. Well worth it and will likely buy a spinning rod for my next trip.

Dissappointing buy
Well I bought the rod and it seems really nice I took it out and it performed well for the first 10 fish or so all of them under 2 lbs . The second time I took it out . The second time I took it out I hooked another little 2 lb fish and while really it in in open water the tip just snapped right at the second eye , they say if I pay to have it shipped back they will warranty it if they determine it was a mfg defect . Definitely not worth it I just threw it away and called it a lesson . Not made well and bad policy don’t waste your money .

First impressions are impressive
Rod is high quality and great value for the money. We'll see how it holds up to hard fishing, over time. With that said, I'm not convinced I received a "new" rod, because the tags were cut off (they were included, but not attached). I own the 8.5 4 piece spinning rod edition of this and love it. Hopefully the casting rod will live up to that standard.

Not so sure about quality.
Would have given a much better rating except I owned two similar Fenwick rods (one peice) both of which broke when lifting a less than 2# bass into boat. (Hands were on the handle and reel both times) Fenwick replaced the first rod . . . not sure what I am going to do about the second . . . very disappointed as that was my favorite rod . . . up to the time of the second event.

Fenwick Quality
This is my third Fenwick rod and my first baitcasting rod. I paired it with a Pflueger Supreme XT, and it feels great! The one-piece 7'0" Medium Heavy/Fast is a good ecological choice for larger species catch-and-release techniques. Can't go wrong with Fenwick quality, and their customer service is excellent!

Fenwick Fishing Rod
I use this rod with which to fish in Canada with. Its a nice, well balanced rod, easy to cast with, just a real nice rod.The best I've ever used! I was disappointed when I broke the tip off.. nice that I could replace it with the same rod.

Broke after a few uses
I like the idea of this rod. I purchased it for a trip I was going to take to Michigan. Due to COVID-19 that trip was cancelled so I’ve been using it around town just to try it out. I was reeling in a small bass and the reel seat separated from the rod blank itself. Apparently the rod blank is glued to the reel seat and it completely separated the attachment. I’m returning the rod for a new one and will update this review if the next rod is good to go.

HMG quality, but not HMG feel.
Nice case and high quality finished rod.Not typical Fenwick finese feel. This HMG travel rod feels stiff and awkward for Medium or Medium Heavy. It is more like M is MH and MH is H. The rod blank is also thicker in diameter and so it is heavier, so doesn’t have the typical Fenwick rod balance and HMG feel.I returned this rod and replaced it with a Fenwick Methods (M/MH) travel set (very nice). I am going to try and locate another Methods set, as they appear to be discontinued.I primarily catch bass, and use Shimano Curado reels, and Crucial, Elite Tech Bass, HMG rods.

Good Travel Rod, Poor Case.
The rod itself is great I really enjoy a 2 for one casting rod with both Medium and Medium/Heavy choices. I didn’t font the ring diameter to be much of a problem personally. My only dislike is the case provided. Upon arrival on my first trip with the rod it was broken and cracked. The PVC piping is very weak and flimsy, and where they actually placed the cuts on the tube generally degraded the overall strength. If your traveling for a lengthy amount of time best invest in a better case.

Best rod I've ever bought
Amazing rod, super lite, so comfortable, great sensitivity, and it being a three piece makes it super portable for the back woods hikes to your secret spots. The extra tips is a God send, basically you're getting two rods in one.

This rod is well made. I can pull anything out of the weeds with this sucker! This is my big frog chuckin rod for largemouth.
