Thoughtful and innovative
I converted a Uhaul into a work truck for remodeling, and I've had to learn the hard way that a big vehicle like this is potentially dangerous. This kit is time consuming to install if you are doing it yourself (took me 2 days to do this and a backup camera), but in terms of features and functionality, I haven't found any better options, and I've looked. You want 8 sensors for front AND back, and not four like some of the other kits on the market. This one is genius because it activates the front outer sensors when you back up, to minimize the chances of steering your front end into something while you are backing up. Do any of the other kits offer that? I drive a big and dangerous vehicle, and this is exactly what I needed when I have to park. The instructions state that you should not install the sensors any lower than 20 inches because the sensors could sense the ground and give false readings, but my tailgate was 17.5 right in the center from the ground. I haven't had any issues. That's not to say that that information was wrong, just putting that out there in case anyone else is considering using these for the same reasons I am. So 6 of the sensors will give you readings when you put your vehicle in reverse (all 4 rear, and 2 outer front), but when you hit the brakes, all 4 front sensors come on, and stay on for 10 seconds after you release the pedal. The front sensors are not as sensitive as the rear sensors, this is by design, so that you are not getting false alarms at a traffic light. But you still have enough sensitivity when you are changing from forward to reverse to put your vehicle in a tight parking spot. All and all, it's pretty much everything i was looking for, and there's only a couple of things I'd add in terms of features to make it even better. 1. The ability to choose feet as a measurement instead of meters (or choose a model that measures only in feet) 2. The ability to change the sensitivity of the front sensors. When you are in normal traffic under normal circumstances you want reduced sensitivity on your front sensors. But I am looking into getting sensors at the top of the vehicle, so that I don't drive or back into an overhang/awning. If the sensors are to be mounted that high, I would like the full 2.3 meter range of detection, but, this is not an option, and there really aren't a lot of other good options either. Commercial grade sensors do not have the features, usefulness, or functionality that this $47 kit has, and they cost 3-10 times as much. Reading some of these other reviews, I'm surprised others are not as happy with this as I am. Maybe there were some quality control issues in the past (or maybe there still are), but the kit I received works flawlessly, and the sensors are very accurate. When the sensors start going off in front of a wall, if I park my vehicle and take a measurement from the sensor to the wall, it is exactly what it says it is (after I convert meters to feet that is).

Good device but requires some skill to install.
I spent the better part of a day installing this in my car. Yes the wires are all too short so it limits where you can install the main box. I have a regular Honda Accord, nothing crazy. The wires for the sensor needed to be maybe another foot or two long for a clean install with hidden wires. The power wire was plenty long but the ground and the reverse activator were not at all long enough. I ended up splicing extra wire in so I could run the wires in an inconspicuous manner. That said once I was finally done and everything worked I was pleased with the results. It does take a little longer to activate than I would like. It only starts warning you when it's pretty close to the object. So back up slowly, it won't react fast enough if you are moving quickly. Things you should know: How to solder and strip wires. How to splice into your reverse lights. How to remove interior panels and center console on your own car. How to run wire through a grommet to get the sensor wires from the bumper into the interior of the car. You will need a roll of electric tape, some zip ties to secure wires in place, and a soldering iron. I'd also get some heat shrink to make the connections safe when you have to splice in extra wires.

Safety and peace of mind
Bought for my 97 yr old grandpa. He is a great driver still but sometimes the garage gets a little tight and this tells him to stop before hitting grandmas boxes and things. Works great and everyone is happy. Definitely recommend

Absolute POS
Terrible product. There is no sensitivity adjustment. The unit won't stop alerting to objects that aren't even there. The user guide is also terrible, with no instructions on how to select the volume or type of alerts. No product support from the company. Absolute POS!!

Works as advertised...VERY PLEASED!
I was a little hesitant to order this parking sensor system based on some of the reviews. But for the price, I figured I'd take a chance. I think the people having trouble weren't installing it correctly. For example, the sensors are labeled, but the ports on the main unit are not alphabetical A thru H. If you install the right sensor in the right location on the vehicle and plug each sensor into the correct port on the main unit, everything just works. I like the volume control and the feature where I can turn off the voice. The measurements are very accurate. I wish it could display feet instead of meters, but that's no big deal. Installation was lengthy, but not difficult if you've done things like this before. Getting the rear sensor wires into the trunk area and connecting to the rear brake and reverse lights was easy. But routing the rest of the wires all the way to the front of the vehicle was time consuming. And getting the front sensor wires through the fire wall on my vehicle was a PITA. I had just enough wire length to wire my vehicle (Honda CR-V). But I can see how a larger SUV might be a problem. I am extremely pleased so far with how well it works and how it looks.
