Classic legendary cars that live on as extraordinary masterpieces of design and art combined.
This book is a complillation of around 60 classic auto legends ones that are the best of the best. It starts from the very first horseless carriages to the early 20th century. The cars are presented in chronological order with a succession of beautiful photographs. Michel Zumbrunn has excelled in his presentation as a photographer and taken on a variety of angles and close ups. Photographers are what allows the readers to appreciate these masterpieces in which the designers and the art goes with it beautifully. There is a thorough description that accompanies each photograph thus giving the reader the history and rundown on essential design elements and features in each vehicle. The author is perceptively visual and has clearly had many decades of analysis and comparison in his knowledge for carsof information. He is able to draw fascinating connections between different car models in which he is able to distinguish which models are which and what were they influenced by in other designs of body shape. My only disappointment in this book was that the Ford Mustang was left out of this book as a legendary pony on its own as car that was a whole new breed of racing automobiles for the road. Other than that disappointing letdown in the end I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves automobiles and their classic legendary history of driving for masses of people on the road in everyday living of art and design combined together.

JUST ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL CAR BOOK
A RED E-TYPE. NOTHING MORE CAN REALLY BE SAID. IF YOU HAVE NOT DRIVEN AN EARLY E, DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO DO SO, AT ONCE. THEN BUY THIS BOOK FOR REFERENCE TO THE REST.CLASSIC AUTOS ARE AN EXPRESSION OF MAN'S INGENUITY, FOLLY AND QUEST FOR EXCITEMENT. BRING A LOT OF MONEY. HOLD ON AND JUST GO.THIS IS A MORE STUDIOUS OFFERING THAN AT FIRST GLANCE, COVERING MANY EARLY RARE AND OFT IGNORED, SUCH AS THE PIC-PIC. I HAVE MANY AUTO BOOKS, AND THIS IS A LITTLE JEWEL. WELL PHOTOGRAPHED AND WRITTEN SIMPLY, IT IS AS ENJOYABLE AS THE '56 CONTINENTAL; SMOOTH, COMFORTABLE AND NOT COMPLICATED. DID I MENTION THE PHOTOS?INDEED, THIS BOOK COULD BE A FOOT THICK AND MUCH LARGER, BUT THE SCOPE COVERS THE LOVE AFFAIR WE HAVE WITH AUTOS JUST FINE. FORGET THE PRICE OF GAS, AND ENJOY LIFE. GET SOMETHING CLOSE TO A CLASSIC. A LITTLE MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD.A GOOD BOOK CAN BE A FAIR SUBSTITUTE, THOUGH. AND THIS IS AWFUL PRETTY. ALMOST A RED E-TYPE.

Pale images.
I bought the Auto Legends book because of very good references about the photographer Michael Zumbrunn. However, when I received the book, I was very disappointed. I have expected to see very nice publication with sharp and bright images of the unique cars. Instead, the photographs were pale and colorless. I am not sure, if the authors did that in purpose, trying to imitate old pastel-colored photography's from 40s, 50s. May be it is just bad prints? The text by Robert Cumberford is very interesting and informative. The photographs of the cars are professional and impressive. However, this book is not at all comparable with the fantastic publications of Michael Furman's 2 books; Motorcars of the Classic Era and Automobiles of the Chrome Age, with extraordinary sharp and surrealistic photographs of the unique cars.Printed and bounded in China, the book has waived pages and bad bound.

Auto Legends book review
This may be the most comprehensive review of automobile design history ever published. The combination of the magnificent photography with the authorative text compiled by Automobile magazine's Design Editor, Robert Cumberford, is a virtual bible of automotive esthetics, and how it evolved.Bill Hannan (husband of Joan Hannan)

Beautiful pictures
There are so many beautiful pictures in this book but don't expect very much to read and you will love it.

Pale images?
I bought this at a bookstore because I was completely bowled over by the photographs of the cars. Perhaps the other reviewer got a badly printed copy? Sumptuous photography of some really beautiful cars, some of which I wasn't aware of (1919 Farman A6B Super Sport, 1939 BMW 328 Mille Miglia Touring, 1937 Talbot-Lag T150 SS Figoni-Falaschi, 1935 Voisin C28 Aerosport, and the extremely weird 1936 Adler Trumph Rennwagen), plus three Citroens, a Jeep, a Mini, etc., some interior views as well. I liked it a lot.
