The good, the bad, the ugly.
Update: its working better now. Thr problem hasnt returned. Highly recommend this caliper. Just wish it had fractions.---It's accurate (I think), comes with lots of stuff, good price... But has a few flaws. Let me start with the good things about this product. It comes with 5 batteries which is awesome, no other caliper comes with that many. Those 5 batteries should last you a few years. It comes with the feeler gauges, which is a nice touch. It comes with the case, but nothing special there, most calipers come with a case. What about accuracy, the most important factor? According to the feeler gauges, it's extremely accurate with an error margin of only 0.01mm from my testing, which is amazing. Now for the bad. It's bad that this doesn't have fractions, only inches and mm. My old $5 plastic calipers that this is replacing even has fractions. I don't use fractions too much so it's not a huge issue for me, but there's no excuse why a $20+ caliper shouldn't have fractions. Now for the ugly. Within 1 day of using this a few times for measuring plastic parts, the LCD readout started glitching out, and buttons wouldn't work. I took the battery out and put it back in, and that seemed to fix it. However, if the issue arises again, I will have to lower my rating from 4 stars to 1 star and demand a replacement. Fingers crossed that the problem doesn't come back. It seems other reviewers were having this issue as well, so I suspect it's poor quality wiring to the battery.

Accurate and comes with extras.
This is a very accurate and easy to use digital caliper. The caliper automatically turns on when you slide it open and the three buttons are pretty self-explanatory in their use. After zeroing the caliper when completely closed, I'm able to measure items extremely accurately to a 0.02mm accuracy. I was very impressed at how precise and repeatable the measurements were. You can measure the outer and inner width of objects with the two different sets of jaws as well as depth with the blade at the bottom. The device automatically powers off after several minutes of inactivity to help save battery life. It takes LR44 sized batteries and several extras are included.Included is a very useful set of nine test blades of various thickness, with it you are able to verify the performance of this device. The blades come oiled to prevent sticking so you will have to wipe off excess oil before use. One suggestion/issue is that the scale markings on the main arm aren't precise enough and should have markings like those found on a standard ruler. Handy unit conversion software is also available as a download when you purchase this caliper. This caliper is durable and well made from mostly stainless steel and comes in a convenient storage case. The digits on the screen are large and easy to read, overall it's very easy to use and offers great accuracy at a low cost.

Best of the Calipers
If you need a well designed caliper for a reasonable price this is the one to buy.Review:So after using the caliper to measure critical distances which are important to armament safety and performance I must say I’m very impressed. As Background, We use very delicate and expensive devices routinely and they are all finicky and prone to performance or design defects. I pick up this device from MeasuGator - 400% less in cost than my current tools and it comes in a protective case, is stainless steel, has a larger display which is remarkably easy to read, changes calibration unit of measurement at the touch of a button.... after reviewing the results of the work and the cost savings of time efficiency.... I put a request to procure 15 MeasuGators and permission to sell what we currently use. I feel guilty - they included extra batteries.

Change the battery first thing!
Just received my caliper. Looks nice. Functions fine...after I changed the battery. When I first measured with it, it was measuring exactly half of what it should and it didn't turn on when I moved the slide. I read somewhere while reading up on this before purchase that the battery that's in it needs to be changed first thing. Don't know why but when I did everything worked perfectly. Thank goodness! I hate returning stuff. The only thing I wish it had is measurements along the slide. I don't know why. Others I looked at had them but they were either more than I wanted to spend or plastic. I also wish it had fractions. Again, others had them but I didn't choose them. In the end this does everything I want AND it's colorful and original. Don't know where they got the idea to put animals on it. Maybe shoulda put a bunch of gators on it since the company is Measugator. For the price it's a nice product and it comes with a case, batteries, feeler gauges, and a conversion chart stuck to the back of the caliper. Two thumbs up.

First one was defective, but seller replaced quickly without question.
The original one I got was apparently defective and would give inaccurate readings, usually off by +-5mm. I.E. you would zero it, measure, go back to zero and it would be off by between 1-5mm. Seller got in contact with me and replaced it without question. Second one works fine with no drifting.Pros: Comes with a nice storage case and 3 extra batteries along with the feeler gauges. Does both metric and standard, easy to read LCD display.Con: It doesn't have much in the way of analog reading should you not have a battery for it. It has millimeters and inches marked out, but only at whole numbers so keep that in mind - without a battery you can still use it, but not will be hard pressed for anything but a general measurement. This is fine for my application, and the with the auto off the batteries should last a long time with the simple uber low power LCD display, but it's something to keep in mind depending on your needs.
