I seldom write a review, but the Dimplex Electric Fireplace is worth my time. It came just in time for the holidays. Makes our family room so much more warm and inviting. It's very realistic, super easy to install, added enough heat to take the chill off the room, great fit in my fireplace. Replacing the battery in the little remote is kind of a pain. The batteries are more expensive than the regular battery, but it's a small concession for the beauty of the fireplace.In short, I love it and it is well worth the $$$!

First of all, the overall presentation is great; once you slot it in the wall, it looks good; and you will forgive the fact that it is very light and at times feels like you could bend the back plates just by pushing in a bit.The flame effect is great, and overall it is pleasant to look at, although it has issues.The first problem is related to the heat output: it takes a while to heat up a moderate size room; and of course you can't compare it much to the output of a real fireplace; so if you plan to use this fireplace as heat source for a large room, keep in mind that it will work as long as you are close to the opening, and the opening is located on the top front part of the unit.The second issue is the remote; or better, the fact that there are no controls on the actual device. If you break or lose the remote, you can't operate the device. Ironically my TV remote turn it on and off when I press the option/settings button for my tv; so I assume you can find a replacement for the remote; but it is a concern. I was expecting to find at least a couple of buttons on the unit, to be able to turn it on and off, turn the light on and off and turn the heat on and off, but there are none. So beware that there is no easy way to control this fireplace without the remote.

We are very happy with the purchase of this electric fireplace, we read the other reviews and chose this one. It was a little bit more $$ then some of the others but you get what you pay for. The flame is very realistic and the best that we have seen, and the clear crystal stones change colors based on the selection. My wife added starfish for the nautical look since we live on the water. The heat output is the max. for a 120v unit and is quiet. Also like the the temperature setpoint is digital, would high recommend.

We love our fireplace insert. It fits perfect in our TV stand. The heater works great, heats up the room fast. It looks like a real fire. Great value for the price.

After 4yrs unit is no longer producing flames

Couple of issues as the remote was dirty and on box control cover made me think the was used previous but rest of unit clean. Real issue is the front glass seems to not have a way to attach at bottom. So flops if bumped. Seems very unsafe. If I was not having this in a spot we're the bottom can't be bumped or or pushed up. I would have returned. Outside of this the flames do seem real. There is a slight noise when unit runs(flamesonly).

This is the most realistic looking electric fireplace insert I've seen. There is a 5 second or so repeat on the flames, but the overall effect is that there is a real fire going. It fit perfectly (with a couple of pavers underneath) into the firebox of a condo fireplace that would have needed extensive work to use safely. It cost more than most others, but we think it is well worth the difference. We are very pleased and would recommend it to anyone who asked. It hasn't seen enough use to comment on reliability, but I will revisit this if it becomes an issue. I am adding this after 6 months or so--We wanted to have the sounds of a fire to go with the fake display. I know that it sounds silly, but it does make a big difference. You probably have an unused cd player somewhere and there are pretty good recordings to be had.

The Dimplex Firebox exceeds my expectations. The flames are mesmerizing, with several options to view them - more red, more blue or just a glow. The heater works fine, and it is not noisy. It fits well into my existing fireplace, replacing a gas fireplace. Now if I could only figure out how to secure it in the fireplace to prevent it from tipping forward in an earthquake.

J'ai remplacéle foyer dans mon VR ne pouvant plus trouver les pièces pour l'ancien. Ma seule déception est la vitre qui s'acroche seulement. J'ai peur qu'elle débarque lors de mes déplacements.

The glass on this fireplace is only attached at the top making it really flimsy. The seller will not cover the return shipping so I am out a fortune for ordering a cheaply made product. I would not purchase this is you are considering - find something with trim around the glass
