Easy to add one POE device
If you just need to add a single POE device, this will work perfectly. If you need to add more than one, I would look into a POE switch which does not cost much more, and can handle multiple POE devices. I used this POE injector for 1 security camera I was testing. No issues with this product.

Me or it, I don't really know...
It was my first time trying to use PoE. It is certainly easy to use - pretty much plug and play - and the price was reasonable, but it just didn't work... I was using a converter on the other end (from a different brand) to go back to a barrel jack, but the device just wouldn't power on.Plugged it back in with a standard plug, and it worked fine. V and everything lined up, it was specifically a PoE-capable device so I was left scratching my head.I ended up calling it a day and buying an extension cord. I'm giving it 4 stars because if it works for you, it seems like a great product by everything that I saw (build quality, ease of use, cables fit well and retained correctly), but it just didn't work for me.I'm assuming they aren't just selling a product that doesn't work, so whether I got a defective one, or a defective adapter on the other end, or a bad cable, I really can't say, but I was just needing the project done so I never did find out.

This is a passive injector. May not work with real 802.3at devices.
Update 2023-04-05: I've checked the internals, it is a PASSIVE only device. A simple switching power supply that puts out 48VDC continuous on specific cable pairs. It does appear to have the necessary filtering and safety devices for a electrically compliant device. The soldering quality is poor, even the surface mounts appear to be done by hand."Auto-sensing" is stretching words. "Compliant"? More like compatible, maybe. At least it works with my splitter which says it can do 802.3af or unsolicited (passive) POE.For $10, not too surprised or bothered about it. I made sure to get a splitter that'd work with a passive source.

After 5 months, finally getting around to testing
Initially I was going to return this as my procrastination prevented me from even testing if it worked. After finally buying a POE splitter I can confirm it does. It's only 10/100, which I don't even remember if I had read that, but for my needs gigabit is not even an option for me right now.I'm in a rural area using lte for my internet (and communication) needs. I have a few devices for this, but one in particular is the only one that works indoors, the rest have to be placed outside, which gives me constant anxiety. This injector is allowing me to place things outside, in a protected box, without the need of an extension cord that runs the length of my home just inviting the for a disaster in of itself.I placed a weatherproof box outside, installed an lte device attached to a poe splitter, ran a concealed cable inside straight to this plug. Viola, power! My speeds are criminally low, but so much better reception outside, and my internal network is run by other devices so speed isn't an issue on lan.Things I can't speak to:Speed- it works great for my rural needs.Power- it provides just enough to run a netgear M1, but nothing else (attached a travel router to the M1 and it didn't receive any power. To be honest, I can't remember if it does on a regular plug)The 48v thing?- This goes to a poe splitter that apparently handles that.Overall, a good choice for simple devices. Low footprint is definitely a plus.

Works for PoE camera
Good for camera because of the price

Worked for me
I used it to power a Hikvision IP camera connected to a laptop and it works fine. Just do not hook it up backwards. The markings for the two ports are hard to read. The port markings are not white on black as shown in the picture.

Great POE adapter
Great piece of technology for anyone without a POE switch. Test run well. No complaints so far

Not 802.3af, otherwise fine
As others have mentioned, these are unequivocally NOT 802.3af PoE injectors. What they are is old-fashioned passive PoE injectors that support 100mbit/s data speeds running on two twisted pairs and expect the outer pairs to be unused.Having said that, the 802.3af standard was intended to make 802.3af power-receivers backwards-compatible with passive PoE. That means that you CAN use this 48V passive injector to provide power to an 802.3af device or splitter as long as you are happy with 100mbit/s data speeds. As passive PoE injectors, they're actually quite decent. They're compact, functional and very-reasonably priced. If it weren't for the deceptive product name and description, I would have given them 5 stars. The major downsides to passive PoE (as compared to 802.3af) are of course the incompatibility with gigabit and faster networking, the increased fire hazard, and the fact that if you connect the "Data & Power" port on one of these to an non-PoE device then you're likely to damage the device or short out the injector.

Doesn't work
I dislike these because they did not function at all I wasn't able to use ethernet with them.
