ONE Star VINYL Rating
Another messed up "Rhino" release. Rhino needs a time machine to go back and take lessons from the likes of MASTERDISK (Bob Ludwig, Gilbert Kong, etc.)Just like "The Cure" re-releases, Rhino has the DM catalog. I ordered the other NEW Vinyl releases as well. All had issues, but I am on my second copy of this LP.ISSUES:-----------1.) First one arrived too warped (edge warp) to play without damaging my $$$ stylus, or inducing woofer pumping. Sampling parts is sounded OK~even GOOD.2.) The "Cardboard" Inner Sleeves are simply too tight, and will either arrive blown out, or you will blow them out if you don't do the smart thing and swap in MoFi Archival sleeves.3.) Replacement arrived. Slight, but playable, warp that might work itself out. Arrived with pop inducing scratches.4.) Replacement is "Sonically Dead". Odd, since the first badly warped version sounded ~Good. Not sure what happened when this disc went through manufacturing, but there is no dynamic range from the lows to the highs. Just muddy and flat.I will no longer be purchasing Rhino Records re-release/re-masters. As was evident with their Cure, Genesis, and other releases, the QC, and even sound issues are unforgivable. I have "Original, First Pressing" releases that, even after 40 years, have better sound dynamics and overall quality.Don't be swayed by 180g. I have 120g MASTERDISK pressings that blow the door of "Modern 180's". I suspect these are ultimately DIGITAL transfers to ANALOG Vinyl which sort of defeat the purpose. One last word on "remaster". Again, it seems like all that is happening is they are mixing it louder to match the CD/MP3 method of recent years. Louder does NOT = better. In fact it kills dynamics. If you want it louder, YOU are supposed to turn up the volume and rely on your sound system.Final rant: Why are many of these so called Audiophile 180g releases still coming with paper or cardboard inner sleeves? Come on guys, throw in an actual archival sleeve.

Another great album, another packaging failure
What is it with these Depeche Mode vinyl reissues and their awful sleeves? The albums themselves sound amazing, but nearly all the sleeves I've gotten have had some sort of defect. With Some Great Reward, the defect was the inner sleeve that holds the record itself - it's about 2mm too small, so putting the record in the sleeve destroys it a little more each time. It got to the point to where I am now housing the record in a Mobile Fidelity sleeve instead of the paper sleeve that came with the album. It still fits in the gatefold sleeve, even with the paper sleeve still in there.

Great album from Depeche Mode but bad quality LP
Very cheap LP made by Rhino records. They always do bad pressing of LP and its a shame cause this is a very good album from Depeche Mode. The gatefold cover is very cheap, and I'm gentle when I say this. The LP have several scratches and sound very thin and digital to my ears, they probably use a digital master to produce that LP and its not what you want to hear from a LP who is suppose to be all about analog sound...Try to find the original or buy the UK version who is on a different label and much better pressing and sound.
