Book arrived well packaged and in perfect condition; also shipped fast to East Coast. Next level service for a used book; I got the impression that the seller cares about the condition it arrives in. As for the book itself, the photos and commentary about different styles of collecting and what motivates them are fascinating and inspirational for creative types. For me it provides motivation to cull and appreciate my own stuff, as well as sketchbook inspiration. I'm really glad I bought it.

I was looking forward to receiving this book, as I am a collector at heart. I love nothing more than an afternoon at a flea market or antique mall so I have several collections in my home. This book will definitely give "collectors" inspiration but what it doesn't do is give you a lot of pictures of how the owners of these objects make them work in the actual rooms where they are showcased, which is what I wanted to see. It has a lot of photos of various shelves, credenzas and cabinets that are full of a particular collection but there are very few photos that show the whole room that is housing that collection. That said, I still enjoyed seeing all the different collections and seeing them gave me ideas on a few new items to look for. My problem is wanting to make sure my collections are curated enough that they add to my decor and not make it look chaotic. This book wasn't as helpful in that regard.

I enjoyed this book, spending a weekend to read and take in the wonderful photos. Reading it has allowed me to focus on what is important to me. We are not responsible for keeping "collecting" other people's purchases, gifts, etc., no matter the value or provenance, we can learn to edit ourselves to a more beautiful, artful life.I really appreciated the psychology of collecting, the types of collectors, categories of collections. The vocabulary is wonderfully descriptive and I now know myself much better than I did before purchasing this book.I was an accidental collector and will be working hard to change this to becoming a mindful collector, thanks to this book. I recommend you take a chance if you have any type of collection. It's fun and wonderfully educational. Thanks to the authors for seeing a need and filling it.

A very interesting way of analyzing collector personalities. The collections and their descriptions were great. I am a Nippon collector but it seems like nobody else collects it but I have several other collections and it was interesting trying to figure out how many of the categories fit me. I am definitely a maximalist but also a machinist and zoologist. The photography is superb and most of the print superimposed on top of photos is easy for old eyes to read which cannot be said of all such publications, especially vintage and flea market magazines and books. I saw the book at an antique store and then came home and bought it at Amazon for a reduced price. I recommend it.

I am still working my way through this book. I've seen it featured in several columns and it is everything and more than I was expecting and hoping for. Reading every word on every page is a treat I reserve for when I can give it my undivided attention. It should come with a warning, however. You WILL want to start more collections when you see the many genres of collecting and the creative displays in this book. Best buy I've made in I don't know when! THANK YOU, Fritz!

A wonderful book with ideas for displaying things I own and ideas for more things I'd like to own! The chapters are organized in an interesting way. There are chapters on collections of miniatures and containers and artificial things like fruits made from marble. My only complaint is that the text is not easy to read on some of the pages where it overlays the pictures.

Interesting coffee table book. Seller was great- item shipped fast and arrived exactly as described. 4 stars for the item, but 5 stars for the seller.

As a collector myself, I found this book quite fascinating. I was unable to put it down. I am glad that I own it! I would highly reccomend this book to any collector. The book was full of glossy pictures of many different kinds of collections and the subject matter was guite informative and inspirational.

This is ok. Some nice ideas but perhaps not as good as I expected. I saw the book advertised in a magazine so thought I would buy it. However I think the magazine used all the best photos in their feature so ended up feeling disappointed after looking through it.

This is a beautiful book and I would recommend it for any curators of all things vintage! I can't put it down!

This is a book that every collector should have on their shelf. Whatever you collect you will probably find it in here. Cannot stop looking at it. I love it !!!!!
