Works great! If you're reading bad reviews, read this.
Yes. You need to download the gamer room app and sync the light to it. Most bad reviews whine about this. How would you make it work if you don't have a pc? Thus, the app is necessary. It connect to you home wifi which is great, it doesn't need to be plugged into your pc to control it with Synapse. It's easily found in Synapse and you just add the "gamer room device" then select override and you don't need the app any longer, just control via Synapse.

Connectivity issue
If your WiFi is dual band, but does not support manually splitting them, you will be unable to connect this device to anything. It is fairly ridiculous to have a device that will primarily be used by people connecting it to computers require a mobile app for set up.

Let there be (rainbow) light
These things get annoying with the software setup, until I got Synapse consistently overriding Can't beat the results though - reduce eye strain, look great, and sync w/ the rest of my peripherals 10/10 bias lighting option, and I often use it for room lighting too in the morning (they get bright)

Pure trash
Razer is trash and has zero customer service. Do not buy anything from them. These things are useless

Good enough?
They are connected by wire. It's like 1 light not 2 almost. I got 4 thinking I could attach to 4 ceiling corners. No can.

Just the right amount of light.
My husband loves these for his desk and honestly, they look great! They add the perfect amount of RGB for his desk and it makes him happy. We love that we can have the lights off in the bedroom and it lights the room up perfectly.
