Panasonic PV-8661 Video Cassette Recorder Player VCR 4 Head Hi Fi Stereo

This VCR appears to work well though we've only used it once so far. However, it did not come with a remote so bear that in mind when ordering. Picture quality is superb and it has stereo sound.

Update: I have used the Panasonic PV-8661 VCR for a little over a week and I am very pleased to report that this was a great purchase. I have run approximately a dozen video cassettes through it without any hitches. The unit looks good and everything runs smoothly.Original Post: I purchased a used Panasonic VCR unit that works very well. I have purchased 3 similar units in the past year, but two of them did not work at all. I was taking a chance ordering this one, and I am so glad I did. The VCR is compatible with my universal remote; it plays and automatically rewinds, then ejects. I have already played four movies since I opened the box yesterday, so I can say honestly that I am very pleased with this purchase.

I purchased this item at the end of February and have just now had an opportunity to hook it up and try it. The delivery was timely but sadly it does not work. When we plugged it in the lights we on the front did not light up so we could not even tell whether it was on or not. We could hear some noise coming from the VCR so we put a tape in and nothing happened. When I pressed the eject button, the button broke and pushed into the VCR. We spent several hours trying to get it to work with no luck. This machine does not work at all, a waste of money. Zero stars.

Product arrived promptly, was well wrapped and works like new including remote. Thank you - now we can watch all our old VHS tapes.

DEFECTIVE! VHS tapes will not go in all the way to play. Can hear loose parts moving around inside. SO DISAPPOINTED! This was a Christmas gift for my daughter so she could watch old movies of her deceased dad that she's never seen. GRRRR

VCR works great. Arrived earlier than promised and was very carefully packed. Came with extra cables & a remote control.

pkg just arrived,, packaging was, how you say, "improvised" but effective,, hooked up the unit and tested it and it works fine,, good picture quality, auto tracking,, no remote, but none was advertised as part of the deal,, it is a used product so wear and tear is expected,, so, some scratches on the case.,, all functions work and operates quietly,,so 5 stars for you
