A Charlie Brown Christmas Green

Love this nostalgic throwback of great Christmas memories of watching this Holiday Classic every year. The album makes a great decoration for the season. Also great for a listen. Who doesn't love 'Linus and Lucy' and the other great songs?

Like most people of my generation, I grew up watching A Charlie Brown Christmas every year when it came on. I never thought anything of the soundtrack beyond its function as background music to the story. So it's a surprise to hear it by itself without the cartoon, as pure music.It never occurred to me that this isn't just background music; it's jazz. To be sure, it's nothing like Eric Dolphy or Ornette Coleman. Vince Guaraldi isn't interested in challenging the listener or opening their mind. But it is surprising to hear how balanced and well-constructed these compositions are. I never noticed anything beyond the piano line that carries the melody all those times when I watched the cartoon, but it's very much apparent here. If this is due to the remastering, it's a complete success. The bass and drums are here to support the piano, but they're also important elements in their own right. I also never noticed until now how in the vocal pieces, the singers are a little flat - the way children, or really anyone who isn't a trained singer, tend to be.Like other jazz greats, Guaraldi had a unique style, instantly recognizable from the first few notes. Far from being background music to a cartoon, this album is a classic in its own right and was fully deserving of its 2012 inclusion in the Library of Congress catalog of significant audio recordings.

I have the gold version for my family & can’t wait to gift this to my niece & nephew at Thanksgiving so they can enjoy it for the entire holiday season. Well packaged & shipped quickly.

The album is pristine. Though, I always do a cleaning prior. Even with new. I’m amazed at the dirt that collects on some albums in unopened covers/sleeves.This pressing is perfect. I’m simple with a diamond tip and Victrola. With a new spin adding a receiver and blue tooth speakers for a bit more amplified sound though the house.Album goes perfectly with the light up transparent Snoopy Woodstock and tree with sparkles inside. Changes color as the record turns and tunes fill the house.Spinning holiday vinyl is one of my favorite seasonal opportunities for merriment. Before the surge of a return to the hobby by the world in recently years.Me, lugged my collection for decades. Owned a couple of players that didn’t last due to stop working. But, the OC extra long wooden fruit crate full of many genre’ grew.My ultimate search, Bing Crosby’s White Christmas. One day was over. Stuck inside a 1960’s oversized five bazillion pound stereo laid a first printing copy at a consignment store.Me, begged the staff to price and sell since it was brought in with the furniture we couldn’t take.This began my Christmas album collecting journey.Some new. Some old. Over the years a few second hand finds or a relative’s copy of something acquired. Last year a couple new Dolly Parton Albums. Seeing this in the Amazon feed made me so happy.Vinyl making a comeback with fresh printings is a happy heirloom purchase. As my son regards his collection important. Besides books vinyl is a joint hobby.Not sure when grandchildren will come along. Though sharing stories of Charlie Brown for any holiday will surely be a renewed family experience. With vinyl, too.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎄

My record buying on Amazon is highly mixed, with majority being crap quality records that are empty sound wise. This one was Great, made me and BOBcat dance, sound was so so great, and the green album makes it even more fun. Buy it if Charlie Brown Christmas and friends make you smile, with the recording, you can crank it up and smile as Christmas flows in your house

I bought this because I love Charlie Brown, specially the Christmas one so decided to get it with it only being £4.99 on Amazon, I thought why not and I'm so glad I did!!The CD comes in a nice digipack with a nice 14 page booklet which includes lots of info about the special with lots of the original artwork and adverts for the first time it was aired on TV. The sound quality of the CD too is really good and is really lovely to listen to during the Christmas season, it's really nice and relaxing 😊🙏🏼Little tip, get yourself some resealable CD protection covers to look after it, as this will really keep it in nice condition also over the years 😊🙏🏼Hope this has helps anyway and sending you lots of love!! 🙏🏼😊

Für alle Peanuts und Snoopy Fans ein MUSS ! Diese Vinyl ist wunderschön. Die grüne Farbe passt einfach wunderbar zu der Musik. Es macht einfach Spass die Scheibe einfach nur zu betrachten und natürlich zu hören. Gehört zu meinen Lieblingsplatten. Kann ich einfach nur weiterempfehlen.
