I have shopped for teleprompters a lot, and this one has the needed features at a really good price. My only complaint is that they are often out of stock. However, the price through Amazon is so much better than through the DigitalJuice website that it's worth the wait if you aren't in a hurry.

I have wanted a teleprompter for longer than I can remember. Cost was always the barrier. I can remember when teleprompter systems could not be had without spending THOUSANDS of dollars. So, when I say inexpensive, it is with that background. So, while HUNDREDS of dollars is not what I would call cheap, the Speak Easy teleprompter system put it in the budget for a whole lot more small producers. It does this by leveraging other technologies that many people already have by using your phone or a tablet as the script source. In essence, this, like similar products from other companies, is a two way mirror that reflects the script from a device you provide. It includes the mirror, the frame that holds it all together and a way to mount your camera to the system.In use, a couple clarifications are in order. First off, it's easy to use, but setup is a bit cumbersome. That is a necessary evil. The frame and other components are largely broken down in the provided protective case. So, unless you are going to leave the Speak Easy set up all the time, it must be assembled each time you want to use it. You have a couple of camera mounting options depending on your camera and setup. Also, for full disclosure, this does not include any necessary software. You are on your own to find and install the product that works best for you on your device. Free, cheap and professional teleprompter software is available for your Android, Apple or Windows device. It's up to you to select one and install it. You are buying the hardware only.I use an 8" Samsung tablet as my video source with Parrot teleprompter software. In practice, it works, but I am thinking of getting a 10" tablet to make it easier to read from a little farther away. I'm sure a phone screen will work, if you can see it at the distance at which you want to shoot your video.I took off a star because one of the included camera mount brackets is plastic and does not feel as sturdy as the rest of the system. Putting an expensive (for me) camera on that bracket was a concern. I also wish they had included a little more information on available teleprompter apps, but I was completely on my own. Given that it will not work without an app, you would think they would dwell at least a little more on that.By and large, I've very satisfied with the Speak Easy teleprompter. I've always want to use a prompter to see if it would make more fluid on camera. It that regard, it excels. It was an immediate improvement. I accept the fact that I will probably never do lengthy on-camera segments in one take, without editing, but this does make the job much easier with less editing.

I have zero complaints about the build and quality of this teleprompter so far. It gets the job done, is easy to assemble and the storage and travel case that it comes in is nice. It definitely gives you a professional appearance when working with clients. Make sure you have a quality tripod to mount it onto. The weight of the prompter along with the camera and tablet will be too much for a cheap tripod.

I have used a different teleprompter around the same price point happily for years, but this was so much better! It came in an awesome carrying case and easy to use instructions. I used it with a Red Epic Dragon and 12.9 inch iPad pro no problem! It was sturdy and well put together. Very happy with the purchase!

This is a very delicate product and should be handled accordingly. However, the product worked well with the prompter app I purchased.

Screen size to small for client

A super portable teleprompter that sets up quickly. This was an invaluable addition to my gear, so those on-screen (myself included) can get takes done faster and more accurately. Not to mention when it's set up, it makes any shoot look a lot more professional. ;)Love that it comes with a nice carrying case (most other teleprompters I looked for didn't). I'd recommend this to anyone.
