This bag is all around a great bag. It is designed to accommodate either sex with a classy/preppy, on-the-go look. The leather is soft yet durable. The straps are a good width and have just enough character in the front. I am a 35 year old female, medical professional. This bag instantly replaced my purse. Thank you Focused Space!

Very nice backpack
I just got a black Focused Space Holster backpack and wanted to share my impressions as I couldn't really find much in the way of reviews online. This is an expensive bag, but I was able to purchase elsewhere on a sale which made it a little easier to do. I've always wanted a leather backpack but $350 is a tough pill to swallow, so I'm glad I found a sale. Also, this isn't my first bag from Focused Space. I got a much more inexpensive one from Urban Outfitters a while back and have been pleased with the style, function and durability so I was a little more willing to take a gamble on a much more expensive bag from this brand.Let me start by saying that this bag is beautiful. Very handsome and classy. Sleek, minimal, looks modern but timeless at the same time. Frankly I just love how it looks. Some observations that aren't apparent from photos: * It's pretty slim. For my personal preference I wouldn't want it any slimmer - it's minimal but still functional. * It has some structure to it, so if it's empty it will stand up * The black bag is all black everywhere - no contrast stitching, no colored logo, the inside lining is all black. I am glad to see this. The other colored bags are very classy looking but have some contrast stitching on the straps which I was hoping wouldn't be on the black bag, and was glad to see it wasn't. * The laptop portion is quite slim also. It does have elastic so it can expand a little bit, but even with that I wouldn't expect it hold a very thick laptop. I'm using it to carry an iPad pro and it feels like it was made to fit that. I've also got a very slim laptop (Asus Zenbook) that is comparable in size and dimensions to a MacBook Air. It fits the laptop fine, but I like to carry it in a wool sleeve because it is aluminum and I don't want it getting scratched. With the sleeve on it is still thinner than most typical laptops, but is still a tight, almost too tight fit in this bag. * The back of it is also leather and has some kind of cushion under it which is nice. * The under-side of the shoulder straps has some kind of woven nylon (like a seatbelt) that feels like it will be very durable.I haven't really got too much in the way of gripes, but since it's an expensive item I will share the few things that were minor nitpicks. * The main zipper on the top is pretty chunky. That's fine, but since it is such a slim bag, the way you have to pull your laptop or tablet out from the designated compartment (where it is being tightly hugged by the elastic), if you aren't very careful it could likely drag across the zipper teeth. It has me worried about scratches. My iPad Pro is in a case, so I'm OK there... But my laptop - when it is in a sleeve - is a tight fit in this bag, which makes me not want to use the sleeve, but it would be susceptible to this concern. It remains to be seen if this will be a problem, but this is my observation and wanted to share. If I remember I will come back and update after using it a while. I think it will be OK. * It's pretty minimal as far as organization goes. I like not having too many compartments and such, but I do wish there was a little sleeve somewhere to hold a pen.Overall, despite those concerns, I am very happy with it. I don't anticipate buying another backpack again unless this one wears out (seems unlikely as the build quality appears to be high) or if there's some unusual circumstance like having to carry a laptop that won't fit in this one. That is a big compliment as I have been on the hunt for a perfect backpack for a while. Make no mistake, this bag is not perfect, but it's close enough to where I think my search will be over.
