When Stravinsky Met Nijinsky: Two Artists, Their Ballet, and One Extraordinary Riot Hardcover – Picture Book, March 5, 2013

This is a great little book. At first it seems advanced for young children, but the story is simple and the illustrations are excellent. This is going to my 4 yr. old grandson. Though his favorite composer is now Mozart, it may change to Stravinsky!

As a dance educator, a dancer, a mother I love this book.

I read this book to my 6th grade music students. It tells the story of Stravinsky's collaboration with Nijinsky with beautiful prose and lovely illustrations. I love it. My students loved it.

Besides the beautifully flowing and whimsical illustrations, this story shares a historical leap in music and dance that is easily understood by our youngest readers. I love how Lauren presents in words and pictures the importance of thinking differently, together.

If you are a Nijinski fan you will enjoy this book, even if you already know the story.

This is a great book to use in the music classroom. My students love learning about people in history that made beautiful music!

The story can be enjoyed on so many levels, child to adult, it is a great addition to a household or classroom library!

Love the incorporation of all the arts; music, visual and dance! Illustrations are colorful and beautiful and very well done.

Yup. I am researching dance for a book I am writing on the music of the dance so thought I hadn't studied this book yet and ordered it. IT IS A CHILDREN'S BOOK. IT IS BRILLIANT! The inspiration of its authorship and the fabulous illustrations have captivated me. For all parents whose children love music, this will whet their appetites. Go on, play them the music too...I heartily recommend this book for adults to enjoy reading too.
