The claim that this headlamp is bright is absolutely true. If you buy this headlamp, you will discover that it's beam is just as bright as your car's headlights, and that is no joke. It does not cover as much of an area, but it is bright enough for search and rescue. It even flashes an SOS.The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the beam is very narrow. But this is the secret to it's intensity. You will find this headlamp unsuitable for reading at night in your tent unless you use the red setting. To use white, you will need a diffuser such as a piece of toilet paper.The buttons are hard to locate by feel, and if they were raised more this would help.Otherwise, this is a solid, well made headlamp. The head band is comfortable and fully adjustable. I would but it again.

Pros:- Solidly built with easy access to the batteries. The last headlamp I had broke as it had an ill-thought out fragile side mounted battery configuration. Not an issue with this headlamp.- Very bright with good range.- Switches have ability to adjust brightness, and are easily accessed.- Red LED might be useful for some people though I don't really have a use for it personally.Cons:- Minor complaint, but changing the brightness can be frustrating. I think it has to do with the timing in which you press the button, but sometimes it just wants to go "on/off", other times it cycles through the settings as I expect, and other times it goes into sleep mode as it thinks the buttons are getting mashed in my pack. I usually get it right the first time, but when I don't it can be annoying.Overall it's a hell of a lot better than my last headlamp, and I give it 5/5 stars.

I researched a lot for the best headlamp for my "bug out" bag. This Power Tek does not disappoint. I will caution you to cycle the power switches...especially the red LED one about 10-20 times. It appears that it needs to be broken in a bit to work properly(i.e. it doesn't respond). Once all is working, the white LED is super bright....like laser blinding bright. The red LED's are very cool too. I could see using the flashing function to warn others if there is an emergency...i.e. car off the road....slow down....police state check point ahead(haha). You get the point. Anyway, this is well made for the price. I would recommend it, especially since it uses regular AAA batteries.

I bought this light to replace a 4 year old Mammut headlamp. For comparison purposes, I also bought a Black Diamond Spot (rated at 130 lumens). Both lights were under $30, so I figured they should be about the same. Comparing the two lights side by side, the performance difference is dramatic. The Power Tek lights up my entire backyard, and lights up the trees in my neighbors yard. The Black Diamond light is not bad, but it isn't nearly as bright and it doesn't light up objects as far away. There is also a huge difference in the brightness of the red lights.Some reviewers have mentioned the confusing buttons on this light... Right button for the main light, left button for the red light. You can cycle through the blinking and brightness for each light. I'm not sure if I'm missing out on some secret functions, but that seems pretty straightforward to me.The only thing the Black Diamond has over the Power Tek is the looks and the packaging. I would say that the Black Diamond looks a little nicer, and the box it comes in is a little nicer. I don't notice any weight or comfort difference between the two lights.

Great!! I have purchased 2 of the Tek Flash Premium CREE LED headlamps. I will use for camping, hunting, working in dark areas (electrical, plumbing) when you need both hands, and I might use it for bicycling at night. I think your products are high quality (good or better than other high end head light brands) and it is a great price point. I am looking at purchasing a couple more of this product for all my full time back packs (bug out, first aid, 3 day packs).

This light is otherwise awesome. HOWEVER, it is not advisable to leave the batteries in the product even for a few weeks. For some reason, the batteries (brand new) reacted badly to the product and goop came out. I removed the batteries and cleaned up the product. While the white lights still work, the red lights are destroyed. Given the reviews, I am hoping that this is not a frequent occurrence.

My husband loves this headlight. He uses it all the time for chores in the mornings and evenings. It is light weight and very bright on the highest setting. It makes checking the livestock in the fields and corrals easy. It is also easy to use for shedding a little more light on tasks. Its small size and light weight keeps it from feeling cumbersome or being in the way. He is ready to order another one. If you don't use it on the brightest setting all the time, the batteries last a decent amount of time.

All that I can say is WOW! I ordered this headlamp for an emergency bag, after reviewing several on Amazon. This headlamp has been well thought through. Great design and ease of use. Takes 3 AAA batteries, and is very very bright. Trust me on this. Not to forget to mention it has three brightness settings and a s.o.s. signal built in. Also the other button is for a red light and a red flashing. LOVE. IT.
