Sage (salvia) boasts the enviable reputation of bringing eternal life. While it can never achieve tis objective, the popularity of this strongly scented herb and the capacity for its leaves to display beads of liquid in hot weather is well documented. Over the past 50 years or so, with the greater awareness of the concept of menopause, the herb has been used especially for menopausal sweats, hot flushes and night sweats. Sage has also been found to possess antibacterial properties.
