The pegs don’t aim upward and the weights can slip off. I found that the Yes4All 2x3 weight pegs work really well for this cage since they aim upward. **Q: Can the weight bars on the lat pulldown be switched out for standard plates?** A: Yes. The 2" covers are plastic. I just twisted and pulled them off. **Q: Can you take the pull up bar off if height is an issue? Or flip it upside down? How much height does lat add to the 81”?** A: You would have to add another cross bar to stabilize the cage. The bolts allow you to flip it upside down. The lat pulldown attachment is 84" high. **Q: It says it is 81" - 85" in height. My basement is 84" high, will this fit with the pull up bar attached?** A: No, not at all. It's closer to 86". You would need to buy another pullup bar that doesn't angle up and attach it but then there's no room for your head above the bar. Adding the lat pulldown attachment takes it from 81" to 84" high.
