App doesnt work unless the unit is plugged in; can be tricky to set up
First of all, most of the reviews on this page are NOT for the automatic feeder. They are for another very basic product by the same company that uses water to keep ants off a food tray, not this automatic feeder with app control. I’m sure the basic tray is great, cause it includes no technology.I bought this to be able to remotely feed my fat cat, and keep him from grazing, to bring him down to a healthy weight. The product says it runs on batteries or with an ac plug, but if you actually want to use the app features (camera, manual feed via app, program) then it has to be plugged in, which changes the convenience factor. My cat feeder is typically in the laundry room which has no standard placed outlets. So, from a daily use perspective it’s average. The 2nd star removal is because the instructions to set it up with the app are very vague. First of all, as I said above if you want it to work with the app it has to be plugged in - no batteries - it doesn’t tell you that. Then, you have to pair it when the link light is slowly flashing green, but when I plugged it in the light was solid and then rapidly flashing and it doesn’t give you any indication of what those mean or how to correct it. I had to try a few things (resetting, holding the set button, etc) and I’m not even sure which thing got it working or if it just randomly happened, but it took about a 30-45 mins of trial and error fiddling to get it paired.Beyond that, it seems to work fine for feeding. The only other thing I’ve noticed is that larger food tends to get stuck, and can plug the whole thing. So, I don’t know that I’d trust this to be a feeding solution if I were going on vacation for a few days (if it plugs up on day 1, no food for the rest of the vacation) but it works fine as a day to day feeder.

great camera/not the best feeder.
For the camera I will give 2 stars. The camera is very crisp and clear and the audio. Unfortunately thats all though because despite the scheduled food times it skipped meals. I didnt even have it for a month when it messed up. When this happened my family was on vacation in Europe. Manual feed on the app wasnt even working. Thankfully the pet sitter brought out a big bowl of kibble but my fur babies suffered missing 2 meals when this happened.

Automatic feeding stopped, app support in Asian
Camera doesn’t show the dish, so you can’t see if cat has eaten or if the food is actually dispensing.Microphone & speakers are one way, like a walkie talkie, rather than bidirectional. They hired Asian App developer but poorly vetted the app for English speakers, and the app support is only in Asian language...I’m on a business trip.Checking app I notice automatic feeding no longer working.Clicking around can’t find any way to fix it. Notice that the app has odd English language, and no explanations.Increasingly desperate to resolve the automatic feeder issue I try an option labeled “unbind”, which lacks any explanation. Well, what that does is delete your device. No warning popup, “Are you sure that you want to delete your device?” No, just click the weird word, “Unbind”, and your device is deleted.Since I’m away on a trip, I cannot add the feeder back!Icing on the cake: I go to the App Store, find the app, click Support...it’s in some Asian language. Now my cat won’t eat for 5 days, after not eating for 4 previous days, with just the one manual feed before I deleted — excuse me, “unbinded” — the device.I just initiated a return. Will update my review to describe what feeder I replace with that works well.

If Your Cat Wakes You Up - Get This
We looked into an automatic car feeder because our cat was terrorizing my wife and I in the early morning, even on our work days off. We were not getting enough sleepy and getting very grumpy. This feeder has been a solution to that problem. We set it to feed our cat about 30 minutes prior to his normal annoyances. We slept in this past weekend and are so happy. The feeder works as promised. The app on the phone is fairly intuitive. The set up to the WiFi was a little bit of a hassle because the device will not connect 5g; and luckily we had a 2g repeater (the instructions do tell you this so read them closely - if I did it would have been a much quicker set up process).

This feeder is fantastic!
This feeder is fantastic! The app works great and allowed me to view my little kitty while I was away on vacation. The scheduling feature works great and I have no complaints! It works exactly as advertised. My cat has an allergy to plastic so I removed the tray and replaced with a ceramic one. I am still in the process of finding one that fits best and has the right height and length for when the food drops. Thank you for making such a great product.

Great product with okay app
Product works great. App is hit or miss - someone's it works, just times not. Video, sound and feeding have been very good (when app is working).

DO NOT BUY
First off, most comments are not for the WiFi feeder. THIS won’t work if you are not on the same WiFi network. Which defeats the purpose of having the remote feeder with the camera in the first place.Update: not only that you cannot connect to the feeder if you are on another network, they supposed to keep track on how much food has dispensed for the day, and that wont work either.

Buy something that consistently connects to the internet
Initially set up fine and then would never pick up on the internet. Company was not helpful troubleshooting. I have many other WiFi devices that were connecting fine to the internet.
