The RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium-ion String Trimmer/Edger and Cordless Blower Combo Kit offers performance, comfort, cordless convenience and compatibility. With their lightweight design, these tools are easy and comfortable to use. The trimmer features a 10" cut swath, auto-feed line head and rotating shaft for simple transition between trimming and edging. The blower is perfect for clearing hard surfaces and even includes a debris scraper for loosening stubborn dirt and leaves. Review: Two Great Tools. Likely Need A Second Battery. - Got these two a week ago for a good price on desertcart. Used twice now. The Pros: The weed wacker itself is great. Gets the job done on grass and weeds. Anything with a thicker stalk will be an issue but I don’t use my weed wacker for that. It’s lightweight and easy to hold and move with. String comes out easily enough and it’s relatively strong. Had to push it out a few times along the fence, but that’s probably because I the string isn’t designed for wood. The blower is good for cleaning grass or mulch off your driveway or sidewalk. It’s summer so I don’t know about snow but I imagine it’ll be good for light snow that isn’t packed down. The Only Con: The battery doesn’t last very long. I live in a stand alone house and I got through the back and side yard before the battery died. I have other Ryobi tools so I have another battery but if you are getting this for a stand alone and don’t have another battery, buy one. You probably can get through a townhouse yard with the one battery. Update: Used twice now and it’s great. The string could be a bit stronger but it’s not a big deal. The only real issue is the battery that comes with it. For a townhouse it would work just fine. For a stand alone you need a bigger battery. I have another one that’s bigger and it made it through an entire yard plus using the blower for the pieces in the driveway and sidewalk. Definitely recommend these both. Review: Lightweight and enough to get the job done - I could see how the trimmer wouldn't have enough power for some jobs, but for a suburban 1/2 acre lot, it's perfect. Just moved into a new house with a yard that hasn't been "loved" for at least a year. edging around the curb took some time, and the battery lasted me through the entire front yard. Love how lightweight both are. 8 year old can easily use the trimmer with pretty good control. The no-bump string stuff, takes a while to get used to. Basically, you release the trigger and wait while it winds down, before you hear a slight pop. That's the string coming out. I thought I just had to momentarily release the trigger, so I was confused when I would do it and wouldn't notice the string coming out anymore. The blower obviously doesn't have nearly the power of my corded one and it seems to drain the battery much faster, but it works well for what I need. Not getting rid of my corded blower, but I will definitely use this more often. I refer to it as my "power broom".

Lightweight and enough to get the job done

Know your machine and the battery
I liked the machine, but my expectations were reasonable. I was not expecting a professional trimmer, unlike other reviewers. The scope of my work is minimal and this was exactly what I needed it for. My one complaint: I would have liked the unit to be longer. I am 5' 10" and I am constantly leaning over. I feel this unit was for someone between 5'5" and 5'7". In regards to the battery, after two uses it 'died.' Of to youtube I went and found two valuable entries. The first was a teardown option, which was not something I was open to doing, but he pointed out one very important piece to the puzzle. Most Ryobi batteries when they appear dead, aren't but their charge went below a threshold where the battery charger could see it as viable. When my battery died, I had run the unit until it stopped. My charge had dropped below the charge threshold, and it appeared dead. The second youtube was really short but built on the piece of information. There was no audio. The youtube person just showed the battery showing as dead, and then applied moisture to the three charger ports, and the battery was able to charge. It worked for me. So, two points to remember before you start cursing, did you run the battery down until the unit stopped working, and if the battery does appear dead, have you applied moisture to the contact points? If the battery is still dead, then you can start cursing in earnest. :)

Very easy to use, light weight, and definitely recommend.
The battery life will depend a lot on your batteries. I have old p102 batteries, that are definitely weaker than what's available now. The blower will go through batteries pretty quickly, but with two of them I can do quite a bit with it. I'm definitely happy with both tools because the other half is 5 foot nothing and loves to use them. They're very simplistic and very easy to use. The weed wacker surprised me, it does a lot better than what I thought. With patients and taking small bites it will tackle pretty big weeds. Remember that this is not a gas wacker that you can just power through. It's easier on my old batteries, ordered bigger ones. Looking forward to see how they do. I have a good bit of whacking to do and my 2 almost make it. Would bet just one of the new ones will do the job.

Wow, so light-weight and EASY!!!
First I would like to start by saying, I know absolutely NOTHING about edger's or leaf blowers. I just started cutting my own grass this year, and bought a "push mower" because I thought a self propelled mower was a tractor. It's good exercise though, right? Anywho. . . With this being said, I was able to put this together myself and I use this with such ease. Not even going to lie, weed-wacking has turned into my new favorite thing. There is something so incredibly satisfying about pressing the button and obliterating the weeds. I will say though, the edger goes through string so incredibly fast, so definitely order a case of string. These two machines are very light-weight as well, my neighbor was stunned when she tried it out! The battery also seems to last for a few cuts too. Not sure if someone who is proficient in power tools would think this is the best, but I sure do!

Excellent trimmer and mediocre blower combo
Although this cordless string trimmer/edger is inexpensive it's not a cheap piece of junk. It's perfect for my 1/4 acre yard. I used it for an hour without any problems and the battery still had plenty of power. The cordless blower was about as powerful as I expected for the money. It's perfect for clean up after mowing the lawn but it would never be expected to blow leaves. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Makes lawn care a breeze!
We love this blower and weed eater. It is so light my kids use it on their mowing jobs (they are 10 and 12) This is our second purchase of Ryobi so now we have 2 batteries to interchange, which is even more awesome! So easy to put the battery on and go, and easy to take off and throw on the charger for the next time we mow. You just push a button to start it. The weed eater has an automatic feeder for the line each time it is started. So simple! If you havent tried these yet, now is the time!!

Weird design
The leaf blower is fine. My main gripe is with the trimmer. It has an odd design forbwhen you want more twine/cord to come out. Most trimmers, you smack it on the ground and there's a release that allows more twine to come out. This one, the release is on the side of the mount, not the bottom, so you have to stop trimming and push the button manually. Unless there's a clever solution that I haven't thought of yet. First trimmer I've ever seen like this.

Handy and works well
My friend kept borrowing ours so we got her this set. She liked it so much she did extras and spend the whole morning cleaning up her yard. Easy to use and battery is decent.
