Perfect all-around ruler for the house.
PERFECTION: I not only use this 18 inch ruler to measure things, it is the perfect straight edge for cutting/trimming with a razor knife. The cork backing holds firmly in place while measuring, marking and/or cutting. Fits easily in my kitchen tool drawer.

Good quality
Everything meets expectations. The ruler is square and straight with very clean edges. Markings are easy to read and have shown no sign of rubbing off. The cork on the back is thin and staying put.

Too flimsy but works
This is really, really flimsy but the price was right. It works and I like the cork backing so it's not moving around.

Works well, flexible but not flimsy
It’s a ruler. I like the cork backing, which prevents it from sliding around when I’m using it to make straight lines on slippery material. As some reviewers have pointed out It’s flexible. But it doesn’t seem flimsy or cheaply made. My only complaint is that the tag is firmly adherent to the cork backing. I couldn’t remove it without damaging the cork. Put it somewhere else or make it easier to remove. Would recommend to others.

Was hoping it was stronger.
I decided to go with the metal ruler hoping it would be less flimsy. I do realize it's 18 inches and would be different just wish I would have to worry about accidently bending it.

My second Westcott 18-incher . . .
This is my second Westcott 18-inch steel rule. My first resides in my garage workshop and when I needed a longer-reach rule, I had to leave my second-floor study, get the rule, go back up a long slight of stairs, use the straight-edge, and then -back downstairs to replace the rule - and then, back upstairs to complete my work. Then, it (finally!) hit me - get a second rule for the study. Now, no more trudging and a faster, better completion of my work . . . . !

Buenísimas.
Buenísimas! Flexibles pero fuertes, de muy buena calidad. El corcho de la parte posterior la mantiene en su lugar mientras trazas o cortas.

As good as original.
I have been wanting a new metric-inch steel ruler for a while. My old one, 1962, finally wore out. This Westcott ruler will be going to one of my children. Same quality all these years.

Good rulers that stand up to abuse
I purchased these for student use in my classical art atelier. Here we put rulers through a lot of abuse which has little to do with measuring and more to do with getting a straight edge. So they get bent, painted against and toted back and forth from my personal atelier to studio space where I teach. A good solid, dependable, and well made product that will give me decades of use. You can't say this about a lot of things anymore.
