I have been using this Developing Artist series for years with various students. It has a great selection of pieces from each period of music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary/Modern) at an early-intermediate to intermediate playing level. There's many different sounds, too, which I think is so important for a student to hear (e.g. soft and smooth, left-hand melody, staccato vs. legato at the same time, full range of keyboard). These pieces run the gamut of super popular and recognized (e.g. Ellemenreich's Spinning Song) to composers and pieces that you don't find in many other editions (e.g. Gossec's Tambourin). It's one of my favorites to use for students because it provides them with solid material for a longer period of time, thereby maximizing the money their parents are investing into lessons. The editing for articulation, dynamics, fingering, and other finer points are well done. Highly recommended!

This book has wonderful pieces with bonus audio included! My teacher recommended this book to me as my exam book. These are all original pieces. It's got a music glossary and index and all to help with decoding the music language.

Personal pleasure playing music

This has a nice variety of pieces from different time periods. However, the editing in some of the songs is a little off and unusual. Especially in fingering and phrasing.
