A great variant version, but worth the absurd prices? No.
As you may or may not know, a few months ago Frito-Lay had a promotion where you could get a free Skylander figure. There were two takes on the contest- one where you could win a "random" Skylander, and another in which you'd win a flocked Stump Smash. To enter the contest, you just had to enter a code found in specially marked packs of Frito-Lay chips or call a special phone number. Most people went with the phone number, as the specially marked chips were only in select stores, but there was a problem with this...apart from the poor advertising I mean. When you called the contest phone number, you'd either win or you wouldn't, and either way, you'd have to leave your name and address as a recording for Frito-Lay to send the figure out to you. There was no one on the line to double check your address, it was all recorded, so if you didn't speak clearly enough, the figure might not arrive.I got my flocked Stump Smash last week, with a very wrong name on the shipping label, and this little guy looks even better than he does in pictures. In fact, I think he looks better than the regular figure since the flocked texture makes him stand out more. He's fuzzy and the material doesn't shed. 'seems like it'll hold up for a long time. I was hoping that he'd have a pine scent like the Masters of the Universe Classics Moss Man figure, but that wasn't the case. Stumpy comes in regular Stump Smash packaging with a regular Stump Smash card. In-game, he's the exact same as regular Stump Smash. He doesn't have any unique abilities or stats. Just like the clear blue Bash and clear red Drill Sergeant, the figure's appearance doesn't affect how he looks or plays in the game.So it's up to you on if he's worth the secondary market prices. Just keep in mind that this figure was a free prize to begin with. I honestly wouldn't pay more than a quarter of a Benjamin for him, but that's me. Stump Smash -is- a fun Skylander to play as, so this figure will be getting more use than say, Legendary Chop Chop. From a collector's standpoint, he'd be a cool piece to have.
