Great for poor eyesight
Easy to connect, easy to program and use. Purchased for my dad who is mostly blind, he loves it and it works great for him. I did find the pictures included kind of ludicrous, so I just drew large black symbols on the inserts for him instead.

Setting up was easy.
To set it up was easy, but to change the set was more difficult. Made life easier for my dad

keeps number even if not plugged in, worked with a cell phone phone bluetooth gateway
I bought this to set up numbers for elderly person who has dementia/memory issues and macular degeneration.Basics- similar to other brands, this must be plugged into a phone line to work, and to set up programs- VERY IMPORTANT, this unit will keep its numbers in memory if the phone line is accidentally unplugged (note that reviews on other brands noted that if the phone line (power) was unplugged they lost their programming. This must have some capacitor or battery power somewhere as it will keep the numbers in memory for some amount of time (days) even if line is unplugged)- it will work with pulse (tone dial) or dial (I did not check both dial, but it has a switch)- not sure if it will work with digital phone systems- easy to set up phone numbers. The small panel pulls out from the side, so it is not necessary to turn unit upside down.- easy to mount the pictures - (although also somewhat easy for dementia impaired person to take them out, also)- If it is connected to a landline and a regular (old fashioned) phone, it will dial out in one step (push the button)- If it will take 2 steps in correct order for a memory impaired elderly person to dial out on a phone that needs to be woken up or needs a 'talk' button pressed before the phone will 'dial' normally (such as is generally necessary for using a cordless phone). (Generally - this means, press 'talk' on the cordless phone, then press the picture on the photo dialer to send out the dial tones.)

The idea is great, but it simply doesn't work
The idea is great, but it simply doesn't work. Works just fine for local phone numbers.BUT does NOT work for long distance phone numbers. I ordered this to help my mother (who has Alzheimer's) with being able to call people in the family. Could not get it to work for any long distance phone number, with or without a starting '1'. You can hear theconnection start before all the 'beeps' for dialing all the digits has completed.

Great! Here’s instructions...
We bought one for my mother and grandmother and they LOVE it. In fact they love it so much they bought one for another family member. We’ve lost the instructions and twice have spent hours trying to figure out how to program or find instructions online. Thanks to the wonderful person who answered my question here!! For others searching:"Connect telephone to photo dialer, and dialer to wall. Pull out keyboard on side of dialer. Pickup telephone receiver from connected phone. You should hear dial tone. . From keyboard, press SET, then area code, number, then SET again. You must do this within 10 seconds or so or you will hear a dial tone. If attempt fails, hang up and try again. Hang up when number is set. To set other numbers, repeat steps 2 thru 4 on another button.“ It wasn’t mentioned when to do it so I pushed the button I was setting after touching the “set” button and it worked for me.

Ease of use
My mother is almost totally blind and with this she can call her family and friends without asking for help to dial the phone. It is one touch button system, easy to program and can have up to 12 numbers put into it and if you want more added you just plug one more of these into the first one. For the price, which is low, this has been a godsend for my mother and our family.

Was great till it started auto dialing.
After 8 months the unit went haywire. Was stuck on auto dialing. Can’t make any outgoing calls. Auto dials without touching any button. Buy something else!

Great Product and Easy to Use
This is a great and simple product - perfect for my 94 year old mom who has limited vision - rather than photos (which she can't distinguish, I created some extra large BOLD letters for the buttons. I have it hooked up to a princess style phone (out with the digital stuff that she can't use well) so all she has to do is pick up the phone and push a button. The princess phone has a volume control on it so we increased the volume making it easier for her to hear as well...a really good combo - and easy to program.
