I use these tongs when grilling, smoking meat, deep frying cutlets or for anything needing tongs in the kitchen.The tong tips and first 3" have fairly sharp serrations that run at 90-degree angles to the main body (handle) allowing the tongs to easily grip and hold food in-place unlike silicone-tipped tongs or really rounded off (dull) or flattened serrations. Very easy to clean and the tips are also drilled like a screen to allow oils to drain more easily.The metal used for creating the C-channel handles is a nice thick gauge stainless steel material that doesn't feel flimsy or like they're bending or twisting. The handle grips are of a wood (maybe oak) and have a nice non-slick feel that helps with leverage when handling larger cuts of meat.The tong's reach is even good for using in convection ovens when needing to flip fries or whatever you've got baking or broiling.Finally, the "keeper" or whatever the end-piece is, has what feels like a "click" or "safety" to keep it from sliding in/out whenever the tongs are tilted. This is the part with cheap tongs that really become annoying, because the ones I've had slide in/out while trying to use or store away.Recommendation: Get yourself some butcher block oil and treat the wood to prevent water intrusion/damage when washing. Let it soak overnight and give it two applications.

I purchased the 12-inch tongs and they work perfect the lock doesn't feel flimsy to stainless used is fairly thick and not flexible the wood is really nice and attached properly will work good for Grill at low heat but with the 12-inch tongs your hands do get fairly hot if you're running a hot fire.

I should have ordered the longer ones

Every occasion is a reason to BBQ (grill). And my family finds reasons to BBQ almost every (other) weekend. These were the first pair of tongs I actually bought for myself. My husband was a little doubtful because "we could've bought them anywhere", but the reviews here helped me talk him into believing in my purchase.I got the 12" (2 pack) just to test it out for our K-BBQ we had last weekend.GRIP=great. I like the wood on the handles of these easy to use tongs. They have a good grip and are sturdy. Surprisingly, I liked the 12” length more than my old shorter tongs.

Love these tongs. They are super sturdy and I was looking for something that would stand up to grill heat. It’s great and I’m glad it came in a pair of 2. I would definitely buy these again.
