So much fun for the price
Have to say, I was a bit hesitant to buy this handplane. From the pictures, the product seemed cheaply made and I could not find any good, solid reviews anywhere on the internet. On top of that, the "estimated" delivery date was listed nearly 4 weeks out, and I did not want to wait that long.However, after all of this, I decided to give it a shot.. probably mostly based on price point.Although the delivery was estimated to be 4 - 6 weeks out, the handplane arrived 4 days after I ordered it. I was stoked. The first day I got it I took it out here in SoCal; the waves were pretty big that day, and closing out. I swam out past the break and settled nicely inside the first wave I attempted. The handplane worked flawlessly, allowing me to get my body out of the water with enough control to slide inside the closeout.I have used many handplanes in the past, and they can take some getting used to. But this one was very easy to swim with, easy to set and control your line and has proven to be a huge blast in waves small to large. The quality is much better than expected. The plastic is thick and durable, yet lightweight and easy to swim with. The strap seems pretty strong too and allows a decent grip, but be sure to use the "leash" as well. Bigger sets can rip it out of your hand easily. I to removed the rubber leash it comes with and replaced with a piece of paracord for a more comfortable feel.All in all, I am very, very happy with this purchase. In fact, I now want to purchase their "spoon" model to compare. If I were to lose this tomorrow, I would absolutely replace it with the same one, the same day.. no questions.\m/

Best Handboards
I own a number of handboards including two from Slyde, a couple Australian boards made of plastic, a couple wooden ones and two Salt Creeks. I bought their “Spoon” at the shop a couple years ago and just bought the “Classic” from Amazon. They’re my favorite boards! Design andbuild quality are excellent and they’re not too big. I can take a swimming stroke with it on my hand which is impossible with bigger boards. Both models provide plenty of lift and plane nicely. I love them and they’ll last forever! I just spent 5 days at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point with my Salt Creek Palmboards! Awesome. For my money, and I’ve spent a lot, these are the best all around hand boards. Easily worth the money.

To dispell the fishy smell
Snagged one of these a couple months ago to take to Nuevo Vallarta.Simply awesome.Been going to the same beach with a great body surfing break that doesn't require fins to get into (you can jump off the bottom). But the size of the wave is too small to really enjoy a full body board (own a great VZ board). I wanted something that would give me the feel of body surfing with no board (Love feeling that turbulence and power from the wave) but add the bit of control that a board would give.Enter the palm board. Now I can ride a long beach break with no board, but still be in the drivers seat for the full ride.Ride is a lot like doing a plank on one hand, except you are flying towards the shore the whole time!Feels like having a mini water ski strapped to my hand.

Screws looked used right out of the box.
The screws looked like someone else had been cranking down on them. The slots for a screwdriver were buggered up out of the box. I do like the design and the performance is good.

Didnt notice much.
I have bodysurfed most of my life with no apparatus, also boogie board. This one month trip down to the south, and I could not bring my boogie board and bought this palm board instead. Did not really notice much difference than using nothing. Maybe need some more practice.

Simple and does the job a hand plane should
Great handplane for cutting through waves of all shapes and sizes. Also managed to find Ally Fins ( Clarke Little Edition ) that matched the orange/black color-combo!
