Flowers for Algernon S3339 Paperback – January 1, 1968

Its a good book, wouldn't recommend someone younger than 16 to read unless you cross out some of the language.

I first became aware of Flowers for Algernon when the movie Charly came out in 1968. It's a very poignant story and it's now 55 years later and I'm reading it for the first time.

My daughter asked for this book and I was surprised because she rarely reads any book more than once. While the book I received had different cover art compared to the listing, it was the same book inside.

I didn't just buy the book, I bought book leather-bound. I've already read the story but the statement it makes deserves better than just a paperback; although that medium serves it's purpose of portability and getting the message out. This is a "coming of age" book on steroids. The main character advances from mental midget to intellectual giant rapidly, seeing the world for what it is. He is not only intelligent, he is perceptive. From the first conception that his co-workers were actually mocking him to more subtle insincerities and finally the pride and recklessness of the scientists who made him a peer and more. For anyone who has ever seen through a systemic lie to the truth, this book is for you. There are several morals here--certainly be careful what you ask for, ignorance is bliss, etc. This will go on my bookshelf next to other leather bound books that make a profound point that I've selected.

Love the book, an amazing read. Pretty disappointed that I chose this listing for the book cover and received a different cover. Still a good book but wished they updated their pictures of the product

Read this book in 8th grade and at the age of 45, I can say with confidence it's my favorite book of all time. I'm a sci-fi fan and don't do a ton of reading, but I just bought this book because I want to read it again and see it on my bookshelf afterwards. Highly, highly recommend.

This book came to me in absolutely perfect condition! I could tell that it had never been used. The illustrations on the cover and 22k gold spine are breathtakingly beautiful. As for the story: a classic of course. If you haven't read Flowers for Algernon please make it the next book you pick up. For those who have read this story before, this Easton Press edition is elegant, gorgeous, and looks great on the shelf.

I was required to read this in Jr High loved it then and I still love it today...So much that when I located the book again bought 3. I wanted to have my daughters read it. I will buy from this buyer again was right on time. The only thing I was upset about is the cover. When I got the books the cover was not like the original , or how it was on the sellers page. I do not like the cover it has I wanted to look just like the book I read in High School.

It’s difficult to write about this unusual story without any spoilers. It is a fascinating idea, exquisitely executed. Highly recommended.
