Dreamweaver CS6 For Dummies Review: Dreamweaver CS6 For Dummies a Dream - I have used other For Dummies books in the past and have always been amazed at how helpful they are. This book is no exception. It is well written and well organized. I had used Dreamweaver over 10 years ago and loved the program then. I am back into doing web sites for my family and got the latest version of Dreamweaver. I was overwhelmed by the advances in the program and realized I needed more help than Adobe offered. This book is the answer. I am able to start slow and build up a very solid basic understanding of the program and everything it offers. When I am done with the book I can go on to Adobe's documentation with a lot of confidence. Please be aware I am not criticizing or knocking Adobe's documentation but I needed to start back at square one and this is the place to start. Review: Excellent book - I am just getting started with this book, but I am very happy with the style and information. Many years ago I taught myself html with a Dummies book, and I was sure I could repeat the success with this one. I have not been disappointed. I am catching up on all the changes that have taken place in webpage design. I am pleased to have a grounding in the technology although I probably will not master all of it. The style is admirable. It is inviting as well as challenging. I don't feel intimidated, but I don't feel like the instructions or information are "dumbed down." Be sure to check out the author's website. The video on the fluid grid is excellent. Don't hesitate to contact the author with your questions or concerns. She answers email immediately and is gracious and helpful.

Ok, but nothing you can't find elsewhere online
This is an OK guide to Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver, and specifically responsive web design, is tricky, and frankly, I'm not finding any books that adequately provide the gotchas to the software. The biggest issue with Dreamweaver is how inconsistent the displays of its web pages are among various browsers. The basics are not that hard to find multiple sources for in books and online tutorials, but if I had known what I know now, I'd not even have purchased Dreamweaver (and I'm an html coder for over 15 years). If some of these manuals were more honest about the gotchas, it would have been much more helpful, and saved me time and money. The Seller was prompt with delivery, so no complaints to Seller.

Dummies always has the best manuals!
I had purchased two manuals to help my upgrade to CS6 from CS4. Dreamweaver Digital Classroom is way too technical for easy learning and Dummies allows you to look uo exactly what you need to use without reading the entire book. I am somewhat disappointed with Adobe changing a few easy to use features in Dremweaver and with this book for not noting these change. Overall - a good buy!

Great Review and Learner's Book!
Awesome book! Especially for the Dreamweaver beginner like me! I have gotten so use to working SharePoint Servers, (front and back end) developing and maintaining sites for all of our different subordinate locations and users that this was a good refresher to start me back off into the Web Design/development world. I love this book and how basic they always are for you to help you understand. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested.

very effective resource!
I had not used Dreamweaver before and when hired to my new position, I picked this up to help me with the job's web site. This has provided a lot of guidance and answers on how to do things. I am still learning a lot but at least I can update the site promptly and make small changes. I love the fact that it has a lot of examples of what things do.

I'm not a Dreamweaver Dummy but I sure leaned a lot from this book.
This book got me past some issues I had with Dreamwever. I have used Dreamweaver for several years but now I know how to make my sites 1000% better. Great investment.

Not recommended. Take classes.
Too much computer jargon. Relies too heavily on the person having read the earlier pages. Pretty useless for a reference manual. The title should be "for PhD of computers" not "for Dummies.." I've done websites for years and was trained in an earlier version of dreamweaver but this is made ridiculously difficult. In defense of the Dummies company, Dreamweaver does give bizarre names to everything instead of calling it what it is. For example, they have a SPRY menu bar. Why can't they call it a nav bar? But more important, what Dummies needs to do is treat it like a nav bar instead of following the lead of Adobe. Jargon does not belong in a dummies book.
